Let me begin this article by saying one thing. Negative thinking will never do a thing to get you out of a negative situation. Even when things are bad and negativity is the order of the day it won’t help you at all to harbor negative thoughts. Negative thoughts will never ever help you out of a bad situation. You must think positively and aggressively pursue a course of action that will help you. You can’t allow the negative to get traction in your mind because if you do it will take control of the situation and take you dow

I used to be one of the most negative thinking and speaking persons that you would ever want to meet. The thoughts robbed me of friends and made social situations tough. People didn’t want to be bothered with me and I honestly can’t blame them. I wondered why people would only talk to me for a short while. Even now I have to be mindful of the words coming out of my mouth because if not old habits might try to creep in.

Negative words and thoughts serve to take you down a self fulfilling spiral. The only way out is to change your way of thinking. Once your thinking changes your speech will also begin to change. Once your outlook changes good things will follow you. I’m sure that you have heard the saying that you can draw more flies with honey. Well you can even make your enemies to be at peace with you if you know how to talk to them.

I believe that if you think good thoughts you can increase your longevity. Have you ever noticed how pleasant people seem to look younger? If you haven’t then I have. There is no doubt in my mind that positive thinking helps you live longer. I will watch a TV news show which will feature older people from time to time. Each person claims to have a secret to longevity. Each so called secret may be vastly different from the secret of another person. Honestly I don’t think that any of these things work because I have heard so many different things said. One thing that I do believe is that their inner peace and happiness plays a major part in the plan. I believe that each one of them does have happiness in common. You can’t be happy if you harbor negative thoughts.

Happiness and good positive thinking are the key to good personal relationships. One of my favorite sayings is that if life seems to be throwing curve balls at you find someone to love. Love (which goes hand in hand with good thoughts) serves as an elixir to help you to make it through every conceivable type of negative situation. I’ve tried it and I found that it works. When I lavish love on another person it makes me feel that life is good. My situation is good but we were created to love each other. Loving someone gives something positive to hold onto in tough times.

Another thing that we need to learn is how to forgive. Forgiveness is good for the forgiver. Yes we might have been mishandled or mistreated in the past but holding on to it will not help us at all. Nine times out of ten the person who did the real or perceived wrong to you is living their life as if nothing ever happened. If they are not bothered why should you be? Don’t allow them the victory of keeping your mind in bondage through past events.
