Many so called experts have offered their own bad breath solution on the Internet. Searching for those keywords will produce literally thousands of sites eager to chip in their own 2 cents about this issue. Sometimes, the solution they provide only works for them. This is because every instance of halitosis is unique. People's body chemistry are unique, and they react differently to the bad breath solution that they try. Some tried and tested bad breath solutions include: 1. Brushing your teeth frequently Brushing your teeth after every meal ensures that you remove most of the leftover food particles in your oral cavity. Proper brushing normally takes between 2 to 3 minutes and involves brushing the back of the mouth and behind the teeth. There have been studies that prove brushing frequently has been effective in keeping your breath cleaner. One tip - do not brush too vigorously, as this may cause your gums to bleed. 2. Using mouthwash Contrary to popular belief, the use of mouthwash as a bad breath solution is not 100% effective. This is because mouthwash does not cure the source of the problem - it only masks the symptoms for a while. This is a quick way to minimize foul breath for those after meal meetings when you don't have the time to brush thoroughly. Avoid using mouthwash with alcohol content, as this may dry your mouth and allow the bacteria to multiply faster. Use the ones without alcohol content. 3. Tongue Scrapers A lot of people do not use tongue scrapers because it can cause the gag reflex when used at the back of the mouth. Fortunately, there are new designs that came out that contain a unique concave head which allows you to gently remove the bacteria without scraping too hard. Tongue scrapers work wonders as a bad breath solution because 80% of anaerobic bacteria hide in your tongue. This causes a milky white film that covers your mouth. If left unattended, the bacteria starts to produce a noxious odor. 4. Drinking plenty of fluids Drinking water and keeping hydrated is also a good way to prevent breath odor. This washes down food particles and bacteria into the stomach cavity. A dry mouth is perfect breeding ground for bacteria, so drinking water frequently encourages hydration. For people who hate the taste of plain water, adding a twist of lemon may help. Studies have shown that citrus fruits can help stimulate the production of saliva, which is another way of keeping your mouth healthy. You may want to try another recommended bad breath solution , but the four mentioned above are the easiest to follow, especially when the halitosis is only temporary. For breath problems that have been ongoing for 2 weeks or more, it may be a good time to seek professional advice and get a bad breath solution that will work for you.
