The Role of Sports in Early Care and Education

Early childhood education is generally defined as previous to the age of usual schooling of a kid. National Association of the education of Young Children (NAEYC) defines early childhood as before the age of eight. At this period child's needs are different from those of grown-up school children, because early childhood has the greatest growth and development and the brain develops most rapidly. It is a perfect time when walking, talking, confidence, vision of the world and moral basics start getting in shape.

The early years of life are important because of the development of intellect, traits and social behavior. When these primary capabilities are not well recognized from the beginning and especially if neurological damage occurs, a child's learning potential could be affected adversely. So, education in early days must have its own particular practice.

The term pre school education focuses education around the age of 3-6 years. The words early childhood learning, early care and early education can be contrasted with early days education. The term daycare and child care is very much different from educational aspects but various childcare centers are using educational approach now.

These characteristics are important for teachers to remember because imposing adult values, requirements, or motivations on children's activities may change their nature and make them responsible. Sports are vital because it helps to improve language development, social proficiency, inventiveness, and imagination and even thinking skills.

Play is the prime medium for the improvement of thoughts, intellect, verbal communication, social skills and motor capabilities in young kids. Play is most common during childhood when children's knowledge of self, comprehension of verbal and non-verbal communication, and understanding of the physical and social worlds are growing significantly. Children also use motor skills in their play and they react to each other socially.

They use language to talk to each other very often respond emotionally to the play activity. The combination of these different types of behaviors is the key to the brain development of young children. Teachers also put into practice rules for secured indoor and outdoor games for the kids. Conversation about the suitable use of materials, the safe number of participants on each piece of equipment, sharing, and cleaning up provides the children with information to begin their play activities. This conversation should be continued as many children need frequent reminders about rules because new situations may come up.
