Part-10: Sequence Bound Modifications – Mystery of Sequential Occurrence in Universe 1.0 The phrase ‘Sequence Bound Modifications’ coined by Acharya Kanji Swami, recently, happens to be an important subject. It is a mysterious and revolutionary topic, which is in the light of spiritual and philosophical perspective. There are few people in its favor but majority do not accept the natural occurrence of theme. However there is an important point to be noted here that, wherever there is omniscience, there ought to be sequence bound modifications. ‘Sequence Bound Modifications’ requires deep thinking process for knowing the perfect harmony and coordination through which the universe is being governed. At a glance this concept is not digestible, however, if one goes in deeper sense and thinks, the automization system would be resolved. As such, the behavior pattern of every substance is occurring in a sequence wise manner. It means visible modifications in the substances in the universe, are happening in a definite orderly manner, as if some body planned that in advance. It can be further elaborated that in any substance, the kind of modifications at what time and in which area with auxiliary means will occur, is definite and is fixed. Accordingly, every event is happening in the serial and orderly manner and nobody has the power to alter the process even for a moment. ‘Sequence Bound Modifications’ will not be acceptable to common people and they will not digest as easily as their efforts go in vain. It will be difficult for one to believe that the total system is being governed automatically in a well planned pre-decided manner. In fact this planning is not visible to common people. Moreover it is the weakness of human beings, to ponder over whatever he visualizes. What is inside the things, he has no evidence, no visibility, no experience, no knowledge. He is helpless but is not prepared to accept the statements of those who can know and see things of all three times i.e. past, present and future in a moment. In this respect, Prof. A. Einstein said we can know the relative truth and the absolute truth can be known to Omniscient Gods. Many scientists think that things are not like what they appear. Truth is this that we are far from the absolute truth. New discoveries are occurring but after some centuries that discovery becomes shakable. This will continue to happen till the discovery enters in the limit of truth/reality. As a matter of fact, the knowledge of scientists is limited to one sphere and they take one thing into consideration while things have many invisible facets that make them cumbersome. Actually the universe is very big and it is not possible to see every structure of the universe. When universe is not completely known then how one can know the coordination and perfection of the system. Till date the secret of our own earth and near by the planets are not fully known. Based on some kind of evidence we speculate the possibility that things might be governed in this manner. We are still in dark about the birth of near by planets and differences visa-vise to our earth. How then we can think of such a big universe (part-3)? 2.0 The acceptance of concept of Omniscience will not leave any place of doubt, but the nature of human beings is such that he remains always in suspense. Because of this, he then tries to finds out leakages in the definition of omniscience. It further wonders that we criticize those things for which we were unknown while we have not made any discovery, not visualized things, not knowing what is beneath the things. By putting the things in other way around for self mental satisfaction, we complicate the meaning of things. 3.0 Evidence of ‘Sequence bound Modifications’: There are innumerable examples that prove its existence. 3.1 The population of Jivas in four realm of existence is fixed in the universe. It neither increases nor decreases (part-4). Therefore, the population of human beings is also constant. Apparently the population is increasing on this earth but the constant numbers is based on the population existing in two & half islands (part-3). The increase on this earth follows a decrease else where. Similarly the population of infernal, celestial beings and sub-humans are also constant. If one goes, other immediately comes. Further the age of infernal and celestial beings are very long and one has to complete the full designated term. He can not go out for the next modification and there is no untimely death. Everything is fixed. If, for example, one desires and makes the effort for the next required modification of celestial beings, it is not necessary that he will achieve his goal because the seat is not vacant at that required time. How can then he go? It means the effort will not be fruitful and definitely some kind of obstruction will take place. Every where the seats are reserved. On our earth during specific time period, special human beings took birth such as 24 Thirthankra, 12 Kings of Kings, 9 Balbhadra, 9 Narayan, 9 Anti-Narayan etc whose numbers were fixed. The same numbers of these special human beings will be born in coming time in specific time period and their names have been announced in advance. Because it was definite. Then alone it could be fore told. If you desire for these seats, it will not be possible. This shows every one has to follow the path of sequence and accordingly the human beings would be bound to perform Karmas. The appearance of each and every thing planned or unplanned in the universe, in fact, is going on in planned way with perfect harmony which is not visible to us. 3.2 Balbhadra Shri Balram, elder brother of Shri Krishna had asked a question from Omniscient God Neminath Swami, ‘How long will the kingdom of Dwarika continue?’ The divine voice of Omniscient God proclaimed that Dwarika will be burnt after 12 years. The event was clearly narrated, how, when and who will be the auxiliary cause to this event. People at that time had different reaction. Some became monks. Some started dismantling the auxiliary causes due to which this event would occur. People forgot that the things told by the Omniscient God could not be untruthful, since the event was not written by the Omniscient God and he had absolutely nothing to do with it. He is completely detached and cannot avert the event. Despite this announcement people had tried to dismantle the auxiliary causes, which proves they had believed the event but by nature he makes every effort to stop the event, even at the last moment. The most important point for this event was that nobody wanted the occurrence of this event, even though it took place. In fact it had the capability of being burnt at that very time of its extinction. Had Omniscient God wanted its extinction? He had no concern with it and no attachment and no concern with the Upadan, modifications. In fact the world has to understand the intrinsic potentiality of self and its own natural course of working. 3.3 Additionally one can see his own seven lives reflected in the circle of luster round the face of Thirthankra Omniscient God. Out of these seven, three are the past, one present and three of the future. It can be inferred now that the events are pre-destined and is a part of ‘Sequence Bound Modifications’. 3.4 Science behind it: To know it better, it is important to seek the basic root characteristics of substance. 3.4.1 It has been described earlier (part-2) that the existence of the universe is due to the presence of six kind of substances, where the material substance are infinite-infinite, living beings are infinite, principle of motion, principle of rest and space substances have one each and time substance is innumerable numbers equivalent to total space units of universe. Each substance is cluster of infinite attributes and each attributes has infinite power. Each has a characteristic of creation-destruction-permanency (eternity) occurring at every moment. Substance attribute is eternal (permanent) and modification of substance is in form of creation-destruction. It means the substance leaves previous mode and accept the new mode regularly (continuously), occurring every moment this is its natural form that continues for ever. For this function, time substance is an auxiliary cause which has also regular sequence. As we know each substance has infinite attributes and each attribute has infinite modifications which is equivalent to time unit of three periods. Thus in one time unit, one modification occurs. To understand better, assuming all modifications are like a pearl chain of infinite length and each pearl denotes one modification. In this way the self time of each modification would be in serial of pearls because each pearl has definite position which will occur in definite relative time. Hence any modification can not come earlier or later and will maintain the continuity. It can be said that modification of any substance is bound to occur in that serial continuity. Further, no body can assail the power of substance which will resist with the infinite power to other intervention. It must be noted that the substance working is independent and is not under any one. Each substance functions in self and continue to maintain the same entity and no other substance can alter the attribute of other process. Hence every thing will happen in ‘Sequence Bound Modification’. The occurrence of future inevitability is knowable and only Omniscient Gods can know because of their perception and knowledge of three time periods i.e. past, present and future that is due to their attributes of knowledge and perception. Both attributes are independent and these function by their own reason. 3.4.2 The modifications in the universe activate itself as per chain of modes in pre-determined manner. This appearance looks to be mysterious and common people can not believe it in the first glance. However, in deep thinking process, things will appear to be governed under planned scheme with proper frame of work. Assuming the time of death of any human has come and under the scheme of ‘Sequence Bound Modifications’, he has to take rebirth in other region of universe which is billion of miles away from the existing place. How will his soul then know the specific place of rebirth? Who directs the soul to go there? It is an important point of thinking process. It is known (part-5,7) that when Jive dies, a Karman body consisting of cluster of materials associates with the soul. These clusters of Skundhs are capable of deciding the fate of soul for the substance, time, area /region and type of modification. At the place of rebirth there is also parallel chain of ‘Sequence Bound Modifications’ in which the substance, time, area, and modes are already decided. At the predecided place, the cluster of Skundhs was formed some time back due to auxiliary cause. Hence, there is high Skundh attraction between the Skundh of soul and cluster of Skundh formed at the place of Yoni, has happened. The reason of power of attraction is the result of similar type of properties at both the places. The attraction at the fine levels is so high that the soul has to reach there. The arrival velocity is very high and it takes just three moments at the maximum to reach there. The soul associated with Karman body moves in straight line with right angle bends, if needed. The maximum right angle bents could be two. In this type of movement, there could be many hurdles such obstruction of mounts, humans, walls etc. The soul passes all through the hurdles easily and one may not realize how many times the souls have already passed through him. This is also explained by Omniscient Gods of which the common people are not aware. 3.4.3 In ancient times, some people often used to travel from one region to another, within two and half islands. Acharya Kund Kund had also visited one region called Videh, a far off distant area from this earth nearly 2200 years back (3) with the help of celestial beings for the clarification of some doubts developed in his mind. He met the Omniscient God Shri Simindher Swami in Samosharan, clarified his doubts and also saw various other things there. Besides this, he met the King of Kings and common people. All were of very big height and age as well. He stayed there for a couple of days. Nevertheless, many people borne here had retained the past (previous birth) memory of Videh regime and saw the omniscient God. This proves that human can take birth at any regime of the universe. The most important event is the existence of Omniscient God in present time at the Videh regime. This truth is an excitement and opportunity for the scientists and common people to see him on their own and understand the Omniscience. This could be the best opportunity of knowing the science in fine things, structure of the universe, real system prevailing etc. This is possible if human beings plan to flight for the voyage to Videh regime. This will give enough material for thought which science may not obtain in coming thousands of years. It is not a difficult proposition as we have already taken up flights to Moon, Mars. The flight to Videh regime would help to know the reality and remove the many confrontations amongst people. 4.0 The action of substance is definite in respect of substance, space, time and modification. There is nobody and nothing in the universe that can alter the working action of the substances. Then how can a human being dare to change all this? Despite this fact human beings are not prepared to accept this theme of scheme. He always thinks whether others can do it or not, he has enough power to do it. This thinking is his madness, ego, pride and desire to show superiority over others. However there is one methodology to fulfill self desire of change. For this he has to change to remove the unlinking modification from its place and bring the desired one from some other place. The question now arises is that, if he has the capacity to do so, from where will he bring the desired modification? Assuming he brings from other place, that place will now have a blank and blank space would need another modification. For this he will bring another one. Hence there is no end of chain shifting. In this way if all start shifting the modifications as per needs, it will create a disturbance and turbulence in the pre-planned scheme resulting in wide spread chaos all round. It means that the automation of natural pre-planned scheme will stop working. It may be possible that the total system will collapse and the universe will be destroyed for ever. Till date from eternity time it has never happened and it will never happen also in the future. Highly powerful persons borne on this earth could not do any change. It is impossible to change any modifications of fixed scheme going on because every substances have got the attributes of eternal existence and eternal persistence of infinite power. One needs the power more than that, which is practically not possible. This way each modification is like of chain of pearls and no single pearl is not shift able from its position. Therefore each event will occur in self time. The self time includes the instrumental causes that would be always present at the time of event. Further more it has to be observed that one does not know about the future actions. Then how one can think of changing things? As a matter of fact, one is not aware of even the smallest future events and then how can one think to break the natural laws. This is all one imagination and nothing else. It is seen that many persons work hard to achieve the desired results but the net effect differs widely. Some fail badly and these people often blame their luck, stars, and karmas. The successful persons speak about their planning, type of efforts, intelligentsia. In fact these are the auxiliary causes. However, if these successful persons fail, then they keep on blaming luck, God, stars and so many things. Such people do not stick to their words and change their attitude as per time. They are always in suspense. Different fruition proves there is some internal system governing that is not visible and not knowable to common people. This shows that the human does not act for the creation of things but he is an auxiliary cause which is built in the system and is the part of ‘Sequence Bound Modifications’. As per actions, the principal cause of any event consists of five main factors such as nature, instrument, effort, future inevitability, area. Accordingly the event will occur with the same process built in. The performance of such a fixed scheme in a substance occurs due to its self four properties of substance, time, space and modifications, and is called destiny. Those who believe in self effort, feel the acceptance of ‘Sequence Bound Modifications’ will cause the disappearance of self effort and the value of self effort will become zero and then why should one work. Each one of us will become lazy and a chain of thoughts will prevail in his mind. This chain of thoughts implies they have not understood the real nature of self effort. They think self effort means that one has to work for others as per ones own planning or to alter the modifications as per requirement. It has to be noted here that in pre destined work, the self effort is included in that fruition. Hence in ones so called planned activities, the self effort is already defined which one does not know and one is exerting that kind of self activity. If self activities have to play the only role then each one should have obtained the same results but it doesn’t seem so. Therefore every event is consequence of self bound modifications and it is better to abandon our own pride of doing something. rnAstrology and specific dreams also prove the activity of ‘Sequence Bound Modifications’. If there is no faith in sequence activities then we will have to abandon the astrology and infringes of dreams. A large part of people still believe in astrology which is a fraction of knowledge of present future events. The story of dreams is full of world. As you saw the dreams, the same events in the same way occurred. One would have heard of people who have the power of perception of present future all of sudden. These persons were not able to explain the phenomena of generation and concievement of events. Besides Omniscient Gods, there were a large number of monks, saints etc who created the gross knowledge by renunciation and austerity. They were able to tell future events and modifications in view of grossness but within limits. This is again an indication of true nature of ‘Sequence Bound Modifications’. Here we must remember that the knowledge is not the doer of things but he knows what is going on.. rn5. The ‘Sequence Bound Modifications’ tells the actions in the universe are occurring under a fixed scheme of events and Jivas have no power to intervene in the governing things. If human beings accept with complete faith in this mode of reality, they get rid off all the sorrows. A true faith in ‘Sequence Bound Modifications’ will help one know the correct and complete picture of coordination and perfect harmony of the universe. This reality will not allow ones mental power to fall downwards. During adversity you will conduct your duties with patience. As a result you will keep a balance of mental peace all the time and ego, pride, attachment etc will automatically be destructed. The atmosphere of fear will not commence. Consequently the delusion, passions, attachment-Dwesh will start decreasing. This will encourage one for the true perception, knowledge and happiness. The aim of life given will achieve the goal of everlasting happiness. As a matter of fact, the moment you decide and accept the true faith in the ‘Sequence Bound Modifications’, your modifications will start ending soon automatically and one can take modifications 15 times maximum. At the time of contemplation the natural thinking of observance and discrimination between self and non-self, doing by myself will get over and you will lean towards inner-self and a stability will come . This is the path of Divine Happiness.
