I'd like you to consider a technique I have used with great success when it comes to eliminating certain types of pain, specifically headache and back pain. This method is not limited to these two types of pain, however, and may be applied to all sorts of pain that is experienced. Since it is a benign technique, it can easily be used in conjunction with other chronic back pain management modalities. There are five steps I like to tick off when using a dynamic meditation technique to address effective pain relief: 1. Enter a meditative state there are many ways to enter a deep meditative state – I like to use an audio recording that is designed to do this. The objective is to slow down your brain frequency so that your unconscious mind is more open to suggestion. 2. Describe the problem pain In this step you will define the exact nature of the pain, how it feels, looks, if there are colours associated with it, or any other submodalities that you may notice. Since everyone is different, the way that you experience pain will vary from the next person. 3. Decide what result you would like instead of the pain. While this may seem obvious – that is that you would like the pain gone – you need to positively state this fact, and embellish the desired result as much as you like – create a picture if you can and imagine the result you want to experience instead. Since you are engaging the unconscious mind to assist in creating your desired result, use as much detail, colour, movement and sound as possible. 4. Define an action plan to eliminate the pain and perform pain relief meditation this is the simplest part of the system. You simply tell yourself that you are going to come out of your meditative state, and when you are fully conscious the pain will be gone. (if you'd like the bonus step in this system, well here it is -> imagine the pain as you described it in step 2 to shrink down to nothing and replace it with the image you created in step 3.) 5. Acknowledge your result – the pain is diminished or is gone! State to yourself that the pain is gone – then notice the results. It is recommended that you repeat this method up to three times if there is still pain after completing one round. (The unconscious mind likes to receive information in threes, and is more receptive as a result!) Repeat this daily until the pain is eliminated, and if it should return from time to time, simply repeat again. And remember; always follow the advice of your primary health care and chronic pain Australia provider.
