It comes as no real surprise that the seven deadly sins are not equally seductive for men and women. A recent study from the Vatican ranks the most common sins by gender, based on collected confessions. The notion of 'sin' is based in Catholicism, but let's forgo a theological discussion in favor of behavioral observation--by sex. Men's primary impulse is lust, while for women it's pride. The connection between men and lust, or sexual desire, is not unexpected. The discovery that women are more prideful is interesting and seems to play out in a desire for perfection--maintaining a vibrant family life and home while carving out a professional niche and looking good through it all. Following pride, females struggles with envy while males are prone to overindulge in food (gluttony).
