Setting goals is not the simplest task to do. Oftentimes people do not trust themselves enough to achieve whatever it is they hope to achieve, and along the way they may also encounter problems that lead them to discouragement and failure. Although certain goal setting techniques are made available for general knowledge, the problem is, most people never use them because setting up such strategies takes so much time altogether. It is only normal to want to work on goals and to avoid wasting time in the process; here are a couple of goal setting tips that take the least effort to do: MAKING A LIST 1. Upon waking up in the morning, think of the things that should be accomplished within the day. 2. Take a piece of paper and list them down, one by one, preferably in the order you want to accomplish them. 3. Work on one task at a time. Do not proceed to the next task if you have not yet completed the previous one. 4. Check each task as you finish. At the end of the day, appraise your list and evaluate the productiveness of your day. SEEING THE RESULTS 1. Oftentimes it helps to imagine the results before setting out to accomplish them. Visualize what you want to do in your head, and imagine it as it would appear if it were already finished. 2. Assess where you are at the present. Compare your end results with what you already have. Are you almost there? Is it still a long way to go? 3. Work on achieving that end result. If tasks are too large to handle, try breaking them down into smaller activities that are more manageable and a lot easier to do. LEAVE NO ROOM FOR STAGNATION 1. Most of the time, while in the process of working on your objective, there are moments where you pause and take a break. Problems arise, however, when these breaks take too long or worse, substitute all your activities for the entire day. Scheduled breaks are the way to go. 2. Take a piece of paper and create a schedule for break time. Fifteen to twenty minutes is adequate enough to get you rested and refreshed. 3. Stick to the schedule. Bending break hours or extending them to accommodate long naps that are completely uncalled-for can bring disaster. 4. In times when you begin to feel lazy, take a short walk or run a few yards. Physical inactivity can lead to mental stagnation. KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PRIZE 1. It is important that every activity is directed to the goal or objective. Anything that strays will have to wait. When trying to engage in certain activities, ask yourself whether or not they are helping you to achieve your goal. 2. If the answer is no, you will have to postpone them for later. Set a time to do them, either after you have achieved your objectives, or on weekends when you take a day off and do whatever you want. 3. Always use your head and not your appetite. Not everything you feel like doing is good for you, or for the objectives you have laid out for yourself.rnStart the process of becoming much more successful, happy and wealthy through applying these straight forward but effective goal setting tips in your life.
