Self-improvement: What do you think of when you see that term? A lot of us want to do it, but we don't really have any idea of how to actually go about it. Jeff Olson's Slight Edge Formula tells us just how to accomplish that. The thing is, many of us want to work on self-improvement, but we go about it haphazardly, or we dream about it but never get started on actually doing it. You dream about something better, but you can't have that something better unless you actually sit down and plan a course of action. Then, you have to follow that course of action, and you have to expect that you're going to be successful. Take a look at a neighbor, loved one, or acquaintance that you think is successful. What has he or she done to actually achieve that success? Chances are, if you sat down with this person and talked about his or her success, they'd tell you something very different than you might expect. Success is certainly enjoyable, but it's not "easy." You don't just expect it to happen or to show up on your doorstep, magically. Instead, you decide that you're going to have it -- and then you set about getting it with razor focus, step-by-step. Establish a plan of action So before you actually start "doing" anything, the Slight Edge will have you putting forth a plan of action. Identify what your goal is, how long you expect it to take you, and what specific steps you are going to take along the way to get there. Write absolutely EVERYTHING down. Check in every single day Take a look at your plan of action every night before you go to bed and every morning before you start your day. Carry your plan with you wherever you go and read aloud from it, too. This will ultimately help you absorb your plan into your subconscious mind, which will help you actually accomplish your goal by putting you on the right path to it. Improvements can -- and should -- happen very slowly Most of us want to see improvement happen immediately, but Jeff Olson thinks something very different should be true. Instead of expecting quick changes, improve incrementally, as little as 0.25%, every day or every week. Small, incremental changes that you accomplish on a daily or weekly basis are going to do two things for you. Number one, you'll be successful, because everybody can make small, gradual changes toward success. And number two, you'll adjust to these changes much more easily, because they're happening so gradually. The Slight Edge Formula simply has you doing a little bit every day toward your goal, incrementally over time, always moving toward your goal. Apply yourself -- diligently but gradually -- and you'll see changes happen that will be lasting and permanent. Don't make the mistake of "starting tomorrow" The thing is, a lot of people think achieving their goals for success is difficult because they always put it off "until tomorrow." When you do that, you think you're working hard, but you're not. Therefore, you can think, "I'm working so hard! Why is nothing happening?" In actuality, though, you are "talking the talk" but not "walking the walk." You have to walk the walk to get the success you want. Start now, stay with it, and don't make any excuses. "What's in it for me?" You should always be asking, "What's in it for me?" when you're in pursuit of your goal. What's going to keep you going toward your goal as defined day after day after day? Figure out what's in it for you, and you'll have given yourself the first step toward your success. Start now Don't put it off any longer. Start TODAY. Remember, even if you only make a 0.25% change every day or every week, you're still making progress -- substantial progress. Start now with the Slight Edge Formula, utilize Jeff Olson's principles, and you can have the success you want so badly.
