Watching the Super Bowl yesterday I was not surprised of the turn of events leading to the final outcome even though one team had a considerable lead at halftime. Not that the Atlanta Falcons are poorly managed as a team, but One of the reasons the New England Patriots are and have been so successful is because of the coach Bill Belichick. Belichick is known for having a well oiled machine or system in place. There are a lot of teams that have equally good and maybe even better players but the New England team is a very successful system. Team building is a big part of the successful system that Belichick had built and implemented. Successful Team building I believe was responsible for the Pats win in the Super Bowl. The “system” that Belicheck implements uses is a very successful form of team building and that is why they are winners more times than not. It looks like Brady is the star, but it truly is the whole system working together working as a team that makes them so successfulr
Effective team must have communication among all members of the group. Effective teams conduct frequent meetings to evaluate the work completed and discuss the status of tasks in process. All members of a team must participate in team meetings or receive updates on how the project stands. When all workers in a business are members of a team, management or owner must ensure that communication is clear and necessary information is available to allr
Clearly defined goals are essential for an effective team. An goal provides all team members with an understanding of what the team is attempting to produce or achieve. For example, a team assembled to reduce scrap rates on a production line can define the project goal to reduce the amount of scrap produced by 10 percent. Goals also set the definition for success. When the processes and improvements reduce the scrap rate by 10 percent, the team has reached the goal of the project successful.
So just as in sports, effective team building practices can lead to a successful and productive workplace environment.
