The Volkswagen Fox is a small urban city car, it is built and designed in Brazil and has been sold in the UK since 2006. It is available as a 3 door or 5 door hatchback as well as a MINI SUV model called the CrossFox, in the UK it is only sold as a 3 door hatchback at used VW Fox dealer Lincoln. For the European market the Fox replaced the VW Lupo, taking over as the smallest VW in the model line-up. It is longer than the Lupo and similar in size to the Polo but just a bit shorter and taller. Being so closely matched to the Polo means only one thing, the Fox has been catered for a specific purpose, urban life. The higher roofline of the Fox means it is ideally suited to urban driving. The higher roofline means that the seats can be more upright resulting in lots of legroom. The occupants sit taller, which is important for better visibility, especially in town, whilst the hip-height and tall doors makes it easier to get in and out of, particularly for people with difficulties in that area. There is only one engine in the Fox range: a 54bhp, three-cylinder 1.2 petrol unit. This revs keenly, and paired with a crisp gearshift, delivers spirited pace – it is far livelier around town than its 17.4-second 0-60mph time would incline. For a car of its height the Fox corners remarkably well, it drives fantastically but feedback from theb steering is quite limited. For urban and city driving the Fox is spot on, VW envisage city goers are unlikely to venture onto motorways in the Fox hence have heavily concentrated on town driving refinements.
