Most people who are contemplating investing on some precious metals want to add a bit more variety and security to their investment portfolios and thus look into investing in silver and platinum. Gold makes for a very good investment, of course, but so does silver and platinum and if you go to the US Gold Bureau, you can find all sorts of information about these two precious metals. If you have less money to start your investment with, silver is cheaper than gold and will make for a great option. Should you have more money in your pockets, perhaps investing in platinum will be more to your liking. Getting the prices of platinum from the US Gold Bureau should be easy enough. The United States Gold Bureau prides itself on offering information to clients but they also sell bullion and stocks. You can go to them to get your hands on some silver and platinum. It all depends on what strikes your fancy and fits your budget. But did you know that the United States Gold Bureau can also be a place to learn the history of these precious metals? According to records, the history of silver started with some ambassadors from Crete offering gifts to Pharaohs which consisted included silver vases. This was back in the year 3100 BC, although the use of silver is thought to be far earlier than that date. You can even find silver being mentioned in the bible. The Roman Empire even depended on silver to stabilize the value of its own currency which resulted in a stockpile of silver that weighed 10,000 tons. The U.S. Gold Bureau does not have that much silver in its coffers mind you, but you can still buy silver bullion from them. When it comes to platinum, the earliest written record of it was found in documentation written to Julius Caesar Scaliger back in 1557. This noble metal proved to be a puzzle for a lot of people back in those days as it was very strong and hardly malleable. But some people combined it with some gold which made it easier to bend and mold. This gave rise to the platinum age in Spain and the rest is history after that. Platinum bullion are sometimes mixed with gold to make them more malleable but if you want pure platinum, the U.S. Gold Bureau may be of help. In fact, for any and all bullion, you can ask them for any advice or you may even buy from them if they have what you are looking for in their safe. You can invest in any of these two of course but keep in mind that investing in platinum requires some very big capital.
