As a Lightworker and/or holistic business professional, I know that you give away a lot of your energy. It is a part of who you are and what you do. Being of service to others and helping to heal them is your divine purpose and mission in life. However, when you give indiscriminately, what happens is that your energy levels get out of whack. You end up either feeling scattered and chaotic, or completely exhausted and burnt out. When this happens, you have to get your energy back on track and focused.

One of the reasons why you may be out of balance is that you are putting too much energy into things that drain you, and not enough energy into the things that you are passionate about. When you focus on doing things you love, you naturally feel more energetic and vibrate at a higher level. You can regain your energy by following these three steps.

1) Make a list of the top 5 things that are currently consuming your energy and a list of the top 5 things you *want* to put your energy into. Examples would be your significant other, children, work, hobbies, family, friends, etc. Note whether or not there are any duplications in the two lists.

2) Now, on a scale of 0-10, rank each item on both lists. First, rank them by how much energy you are putting into these areas right now. Then, rank them by how much energy you ideally want to put into them. This will give you a map of where you are now vs. where you want to be. If there are very few duplicates between where you are putting your energy and where you want to, then you know where you need to do the most work.

3) Take a look at your list and rankings and make a plan to start spending more time on the areas that you are passionate about, and less time--or none--on the areas that are draining you. Is it a matter of learning how to say no when people ask you for favors? Are you working a job that is completely unfulfilling and unsatisfying? Is your relationship not as happy as you would like it? This step takes a lot of introspection, planning, and inner work.

Once you get down on paper where you are and where you want to go energetically, the rest is a matter of personal planning. Nobody should be controlling your time and energy but you. In order to be balanced, you need to regain your power and practice disce
ment when you give it out. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it, and in no time at all, you'll be putting all of your energy where you want it to go, and not where someone else wants it to go.
