Have you been feeling stressed and sluggish lately? Are you having bouts of body pain, diarrhea, constipation, or clumsiness? Perhaps you've gained a couple of pounds in just a week and have found it difficult to shed off. If you're currently facing this dilemma, excessive toxins must have overwhelmed your system.

With the various substances that you expose your body to, it shouldn't come as a surprise for toxins to build up. Toxins are considered garbage for the body, and these are stored in fat cells. In consuming the usual American diet, a person feeds on 70 trillion garbage cans worth of toxins for each cell. Naturally, this rubbish can affect the body's fitness and health.

For this reason, detoxifying-or cleansing-your cells from these toxins is an important task. To accomplish this feat, there are the so-called elimination organs.

1. The Liver

The liver is responsible for overseeing the body's metabolism. In this process, it sorts out the toxins, and it transmits these to the corresponding organs for elimination.

2. The Lymph Glands

The body's lymphatic glands include the spleen, appendix, thymus, and tonsils. These glands consist of a network of tubes that expel the wastes from the cells into the final eliminating organs.

3. The Kidneys

The pair of kidneys is responsible for maintaining the body's water and electrolyte balance. It maintains ideal blood chemistry by eliminating the dissolved waste acids. You can condition your kidneys for this task by drinking lots of water throughout the day. Drinking alkaline juices has also been found to be helpful. In a day, it is best that you consume half an ounce of an alkaline drink to bring positive fruits on your body weight.

4. The Lungs

The lungs allow gas exchange to occur-that is, you take in a fresh supply of oxygen in exchange for the waste carbon dioxide produced by your cells. Deep breathing and fresh air are important to keep the lungs fit for this task. If your residence lies in an urban area, it is necessary to find an oxygen-rich, pollution-free area where you can do deep breathing exercises.

5. The Colon

The colon manages the solid wastes of the digestive system. Several cases have shown that people may accumulate 80 pounds of mucus and thick solid waste on the walls of their colon. The procedures for detoxifying the colon may prove to be tough, but they are indeed necessary to ensure that your colon can perform its function well and efficiently.

Should these organs fail to perform their functions in detoxification, your body may suffer negative consequences. To ensure that your elimination organs are in tiptop condition, you may do regular walking exercises, to say the least. Exercise has long been known to hold an essential role in keeping the body fit and healthy. Moreover, drinking plenty of lemon juice goes an extra mile for good health. This is a known method of maintaining ideal conditions for the body's circulation and of increasing the rate of detoxification in the elimination organs. By applying these simple tasks in your everyday life, you are on your way to detoxifying for fitness and health.
