Including everything in your life that promotes great health and well-being is exactly what we are working toward. Choosing a little bit of this and a smidgen of that creates a sense of balance and allows you to include everything that you love as you practice restraint and temperance as a habitual occurrence.
As we move in a direction of tolerating all of our cravings and agreeing with ourselves to not forbid or banish any one item from our daily life, we begin to adjust our outlook and relinquish the power that certain food items seem to hold over us. When you personally consent to its addition into your life without a self-quarrel it settles you down, promotes feelings of control and creates a sense of calmness toward your certain challenging menu item.
It’s up to you to allow yourself the power to create harmony with the items in your life that you have a love-hate relationship with. Perhaps following a few steps will aid in your stability and help you the next time you begin to fall into the detrimental track of an all-or-nothing approach.
- Choose one food item that you have a difficult, trying relationship with.
- Shop for a small allotment of the said item and bring it into your home.
- Divide the item up in small servings for the next seven days.
- Each day have your allocated portion.
- Document any thoughts and feelings as you practice the art of moderation.
- Continue on each day with the same pattern until each helping has been eate
As you work toward a steady, poised pattern of behavior regarding your challenging food items, it requires that you give it a shot. It requires that you put your best foot forward and create change in your life. Remember now, if you keep on doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep on getting what you’ve always got (Jack Canfield). It’s up to you and only you to make a difference in your life. Are you willing to create the life you dream about? Yes you are!
