Fish oil has recently become a popular supplement for people because it contains Omega-3 fatty acids. The history of fish oil can be traced as far back as the transition from single-celled organism to multi-cellular organisms. The hormones used to communicate between the cells in one of these multi-cellular organisms are called eicosanoids, and they used fats in their cell membranes as building blocks. Eicosanoids use polyunsaturated fats in synthesis, and those fats are derived from algae and sea animals. Our ancestors consumed seafood, and scientists believe that this is what made us smarter.
Many years later, in 1775, England was the first to produce a variation of oil. This was called cod liver oil. When the cod arrived, the oil oozing out of their livers would be collected and sold. Despite its unappetizing origins, cod liver oil was considered to be a miracle cure for many diseases. However, this was around the time that factories were getting more popular, and pollutants were contaminating the cod. Fortunately, modern fish oil is not as disgusting.
More recent innovations in the history of fish oil came when ultra-refined EPA and DHA concentrate were developed. The process required to refine and utilized advanced chemical engineering, starting with the removal of saturated fat by fractional distillation and the removal of nearly all the PBCs using molecular distillation. Then, through polishing, impurities are removed through very hot water. Finally, it is fortified with anti-oxidants for a longer shelf life and additional nutrients.
As a result of these innovations, a new type of fish oil was born. This new type provides you with a concentrated amount of long-chai
Omega-3 fatty acid, but leaves behind all the undesirable chemical contaminants and harmful substances that have polluted most modern fish. Because of this important new technology, you’re able to have straight-fish oil or gel caplets that are concentrated and full of essential fatty acids that you wouldn’t get otherwise.
The problem with fish is not that it’s necessarily bad for you to eat it on occasion. The problem comes when you are considering trying to eat it every day. In order to really gain enough positive effects of it, you’ll want to take it daily. However, if you ate fish regularly, you would start to suffer the effects of the toxins and contaminants, such as hair loss or cancer. You can successfully get the nutrients you need without risking the effects of dangerous contaminants with fish oil in bottles or caplets.
So, if you take pharmaceutical-grade fish oil, you will be able to get the proper amount of long-chai
Omega-3 fatty acids for your brain and your body. You can expect to have better heart health, brain function, cholesterol, acne, and more. In addition, there is evidence that it is anti-inflammatory, which means there is a lower risk of cancer, heart disease, and other chronic diseases, and it can even help protect against depression. In the history of fish oil, there has been nothing as exciting as these new innovations, which can allow everyone to get adequate Omega-3 fatty acids and live a healthier life.
