There are two main advantages of trading your old analog phone's Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) system: flexibility and cost. But what exactly is VoIP, how it works, and more importantly, how it will save you money? We cover it all, but this quick primer for VoIP.

There is a very good chance that you have been using VoIP for some time now. Yes, because for a long time in telecommunications realized that VoIP can help rationalize the 1000 route telephone calls. But in recent years, VoIP has been gaining acceptance as a cheaper alte
ative to traditional phone service to homes and businesses. In fact, this technology is often referred to as an international calling service, although it is just as likely to be used for local calls, cheap international calls.

Although it was mentioned, IP telephony and VoBB (voice over broadband), commonly used term for Voice over IP (VoIP). VoIP FCC definition that turns your voice into a digital signal that travels over the Internet. " This means that you call first goes online, rather than through phone lines. (Phone gates still require a call originating and ending points, though).

What about the "flexibility?" Literally, the Voice over IP Services (VoIP) allows you to make calls from anywhere you can connect to the Internet, even if it wirelessly. Because the Internet is available almost everywhere, you can pick up your phone with you when you travel and use, as if you were back at home or office. And if you do not like the idea of ??using your phone, you can simply use your computer to the VoIP call. , Of course, you need to have speakers and a microphone to your computer!

These days, our regular phones are equipped with a variety of exciting features. Most of the voice over IP companies also provide these functions, but without the added cost to your traditional phone company charges you. So there's a good chance you still have the option to repeat dialing, caller ID and call waiting. Most VoIP companies provide call forwarding to voice mail for a small fee. As you shop for your VoIP service provider that you understand what services are included in base price and you have to pay extra for.

There are 3 ways that you can use VoIP. You can access your computer, but the invitation that you can think of (including international calls), IP phone, or your regular phone is equipped with an adapter. Here's how each one works.

If you are using a regular phone, you need an analog telephone adapter (ATA), voice over IP calls. You can then convert the analog signal to digital using an adapter to connect your phone to your computer. It's incredibly easy to install and use, but it is usually people use Voice over IP services.

If you see an IP phone is a chance that you will not even know. It looks almost identical to the standard business phone, but with a different connector. Rather than using a standard RJ-11 port IP phone uses an Ethe
et connection. It has everything you need to work in the VoIP calls, connecting to your router. (By the way, you can make VoIP calls from any Wi-Fi spot, if you have a Wi-Fi phone.) Just make sure that your computer has the necessary software (most of which comes pre-loaded when you buy it), which "a new race. One thing to note is that the high-speed Internet connection (DSL or cable modem) is always" best. "You have a bad caller experience a slower connection.

Now here's where the prices. Whether you are using it as an international calling service, or just call the whole city, a voice over IP skirts around the traditional phone companies, and eliminates or significantly reduces their chargers. Voice over IP calls are routed over the Internet, you do not pay for the distance between you and the person you are calling. Instead, you pay just pennies for access between the Internet and local telephone network and the point comes where you call and reach its destination.
