Millions of men out there are taking their vitamins. Whether it's multivitamins or whether it's some sort of a supplement for their prostate health, whether it works or not, what we know is that eating natural fruits and vegetables which are full of antioxidants are a great thing for you. What fruits and vegetable are in the front row defenders in the face of prostate cancer? 1. Tomatoes absolutely get the gold medal. Tomatoes are full of lycopene and study after study show that eating them raw, or in the form of tomato juice, perhaps not only can shrink your prostate, but, if also you have early stage atypical cells, it may slow down the progression of the disease. 2. Broccoli - Apart from all red produce, look for green when in the supermarket. Broccoli has a lot of phytochemicals and studies show that phytochemicals can actually reduce the rate of prostate growth. If you have prostate cancer and you already have had surgeries and treatment, at least it can help you from any kind of recurrence. 3. Green tea doesn't need any introduction – it has a lot of antioxidants, such as EGCG, which is good for overall health, not just for prostate. It can reduce the inflammation all over your body, so one or two cups of green tea a day can always make you healthy and certainly can keep your prostate healthy. 4. Soybean has been always a controversy, because soy can change your testosterone level and can occasionally increase your estrogen, if you take a lot of it. However, a little bit of it is actually good for you. It has the same kind of effect as the rest of them, with reducing inflammation. More and more inflammatory cells are prerequisite to cancer so, if you reduce inflammation, you help your prostate. 5. Pomegranate juice and pomegranate itself, whether you eat it directly or you put the seeds in your salad is my favorite one. Working it in your diet twice a week is ideal, in all of its forms. 6. Adding salmon to your menu is good for a lot of things, but you do have to take notice of the quantity you’re eating. Too much of it isn’t healthy, but overall you know that it has tons of omega-3 fatty acid and it's known that it's good for your heart and your brain and certainly it's good for your prostate. 7. Coffee and caffeine holds multiple health benefits, among which are the reduction in the risks of suicide, depression, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, colorectal cancer. Coffee has been a protagonist in over 100 studies, that associate it with reducing risks of cancers such as endometrial, liver, prostate, colon, skin and others. It is important to note that caffeine holds significant importance in this issue, as cancer cells treated with decaffeinated coffee extracts do not have the same ability in minimizing metastasis and proliferation of diseased cells. A healthy diet and lifestyle may not secure a cancer free life, but it can diminish the risks or prolong the debut of the disease. A daily intake of nutrients and vitamins is beneficial to your life and can improve its quality later on.
