The preparation of traveling to Peru entails much more than packing a bag and boarding a flight. There are some things that must be done before embarking on the journey, apart from the essentials. If you have made the necessary preparations before arriving in Peru, it will save a lot of your time once you hit the road. Given below are a few things that you should consider: rnFundamentals • Passport –rnCheck the validity of your passport. Also check whether it will remain valid or expire during the course of your trip. It is advisable to get a new passport even if the old one is due to expire a few days after your return flight because you will find yourself in a jam if you choose to stay a few days longer than you initially anticipated.rnVisas – make sure that you have all the necessary visas for traveling to Peru. This is very important that you have the entire visa aspect in order. • Vaccinations – Make sure that you have gone through this well before departure. There are some vaccines that take a few days to take action. Yellow fever, tetanus and typhoid are a few ailments that you must get immunized for before you depart. Other vaccinations may only be needed under specific circumstances. • Travel insurance – Having a travel insurance plan is a great idea. Some really good travel insurance plans are available for South America. It is advisable not to embark on trip without insurance cover. rnMoney & Finances This is a little boring yet the most necessary of all things. You must have everything sorted out before you departure for Peru. There are some things that you must consider:rnFinancial stuff is boring but a necessary evil.Get everything sorted out before you leave for Peru as it’s a real pain trying to get it done on the road. • Credit cards – You must have clearance from your bank for using your card in Peru. This is very important because if you do not have the necessary clearance, your bank may, on every withdrawal, think that your card has been stolen, and cancel the transaction right away. • Access to the Bank – If it is allowed by your bank, arrange for a family member to have access to your bank account so that someone can get your money in case you encounter difficulties abroad. • Setting up online banking – This will help you check your finances while you are traveling. • Pay your bills – Don not leave any unpaid bills before departing to Peru. This may pose problems later. • Loans and repayments – In case you have not deferred your loans, the bank will start deducting installments from your bank account. Make sure that you have filled and submitted the loan deferment and other such forms before your begin your journey. Below are some more things: • Copies of documents – Prepare photocopies of all the documents. Take some of those copies with yourself while leaving the rest at home. If you lose any of the documents during your vacation, you will always have the copies. • Canceling orders – Cancel all the services and delivery orders that you received on a regular basis. These may include TV and Internet subscriptions, grocery and milk deliveries etc.. • Mail – Request someone to collect your mail. You can also request the post office to keep it with themselves until you get back. For more travel tips visit Latin America Tours or to book Peru vacations
