No one, to my knowledge, knows where our thoughts come from. But we are creating thoughts 24/7, even when we sleep. Thinking, like our heartbeat and breathing, are simply human functions required for life. What we think and why are also human function mysteries. What is certain is that no two of us can possibly think in precisely the same way – this is one of the most significant emotional challenges to our relationships because so many of us expect others to think and see life the way we do – which of course is not possible.

The way we mentally and emotionally see life is a function and reflection of all of the thoughts we have experienced since childhood and is called our habitual thought system. This system is comprised of the countless thoughts we have experienced and our interpretations of thousands of other peoples thoughts accumulated throughout our lives. Each individual’s habitual thought system is totally unique and manifests itself through our personality and emotions.

Today, more than ever, we are all experiencing higher levels of emotional distress in our lives, and all of our emotions are rooted in the unconscious way we use our habitual thought systems to think.

We have reached unprecedented levels of individual stress, anxiety, insecurity, and depression to name only a few emotional consequences. Those who desperately want healthier psychological functioning and happiness in their lives don’t know any alte
ative but attempting to overcome the social stigmas of traditional psychotherapy and medications to deal with their more and more dysfunctional habitual thought systems. Many, too fearful of the mental health public stigmas choose self-treatment to ease their emotional pain, frustration, and hopelessness. Today, we are all painfully aware of self-treatment options which include alcohol, drugs, obesity and so on.

Thinkiatry’s Principles, Process, and Path is a new Self-Therapy and revolutionary alte
ative to achieve healthier psychological functioning, happiness, and contentment in our lives each day. The Thinkiatry course consists of twelve classes including the Principles and their applications to several common emotional life challenges.

Briefly, Thinkiatry’s Principles teach us how to monitor and alter our dysfunctional habitual thought systems to prevent and dispose of the negative thoughts controlling our emotional lives and relationships. You will learn that our thoughts are only thoughts, not reality; our feelings are a navigational tool to recognize when our thinking is off track and headed toward unnecessary conflict and low moods; moods are the accumulation of negative feelings created by habitual negative thoughts; understanding the Principle of Separate Realities is the key to healthy, happy relationships starting with our own relationship to our thinking; and finally the Path to Living in the Moment, about which much has been written and discussed – Thinkiatry actually teaches us the Process and Principles to attain this elusive emotional life achievement.
