Ok what are the foot controls? they are three pedals that you control with your feet known as the accelerator, foot brake and clutch. The accelerator and foot brake is operated by your right foot while the clutch is operated by your left foot only. Hand controls - The parking break, gear stick, steering wheel and the indicators are all operated with your hands, there are also many other hand controls such as the horn, windscreen wipers, demister controls, headlights. rnA quick talk through on moving off, to move off it is important to understand the biting point- biting point is when the clutch plates start to engage. Lets get ready to move off, first with your left foot press the clutch pedal fully down and hold it down, then select first gear. With your right foot press the accelerator very lightly until you hear a slight humming sound from the engine and again hold it steady, now slowly start bringing the clutch up until you hear the engine noise change slightly, you may even see the bonnet of the car rise - this means you have the biting point so hold your feet still in position. Now you need to do your observation including blind spots and then decide if a signal is necessary, if it is then signal right. Do one final check over your right shoulder and if it's safe to move off then release the hand brake, the vehicle will begin to move, gradually depress the accelerator to increase speed and at the same time bring the clutch up smoothly and take your foot completely off the pedals. rnOK these are few things to get you started but as you start to take your driving lessons you will realize that there is much more to driving than you originally though.
