Three Steps To Having The Life You Desire

There are really three things standing in the way of having the life you desire. They are three big things, but once you learn how to work these three things in your favor, there is no dream you can’t achieve.

Let Go Of Fear
All failure comes from fear. Really. Procrastination, inertia, worry about how much work success requires, worry about how our lives and relationships will change if we succeed, and the inability to break out of old habits all come from fear. If we don’t start something, we can’t finish, so therefore we can’t fail. If we don’t succeed, we won’t have to deal with the possibility of change in our lives, work, or relationships. There are many reasons to keep things just as they are. Since being where you are right now is a known state, it can be more comfortable than doing something unknown. That’s why so many people continue to live far below their dreams or wait until they hit rock bottom to start the change process.

But what can happen when you let go of that fear? Well, that’s when magic can happen. You can take risks, meet new people, make more money, expose yourself to new experiences, and have a more exciting life. It definitely will bring about some changes in your life, but that’s exactly what you want, isn’t it? How are you going to get that if you don’t do something different?

Believe In Yourself
It’s not enough to let go of the fear. For example, I’ve seen many people who say they want to meet someone and have a strong, mutually satisfying relationship. So they go out with different people, but it never ends up going anywhere. Why? Because they have programmed themselves for failure. Their inner voice says things like, “I know he’s not going to like me. He’s only smiling to be nice. He probably can’t wait to get this over with.”

When you are thinking those things internally, you are projecting those things exte
ally. Even if the other person wasn’t originally thinking things like that, they will take your cue and believe that you aren’t “good” enough because that’s what you believe.

Tell yourself that you are good enough, smart enough, attractive enough, funny enough and talented enough to do whatever it is that will help you achieve your goals. Look for evidence that supports that every day. Even if it’s a small thing. Then project that confidence (not arrogance) and watch how the world around you changes to reflect your new inner belief.

Do the Work
Letting go of fear and believing in yourself are key ingredients to having the life you desire, but if you don’t do the work, you will end up frustrated and struggling. Believing in yourself can result in the universe bringing your heart’s desire to your doorstep, but you still have to make sure you have an easily seen address so it can locate you. You still have to get up and open the door. When you help your success along, you’ve got a greater chance of happening.

If you are one of those people who haven’t yet been able to create the life your desire, I would bet that one or more of these areas need attention in your life. If all it takes to have the life you desire is following through on three little steps, what’s stopping you from starting right now?

It’s the Holy Grail in the world of addiction to find drugs that will block the craving for alcohol. There are three medications on the market that have been studied and show some benefits. Pros and Cons of Drug Used for Alcohol Dependency or to Block Craving Campral, also known as Acamprosate, is used to block craving. Studies have found a reduced incidence of relapse with veterans in Philadelphia who took this drug. The daily dosage is two 333mg tablets, three times a day, and in my practice dealing with addiction and alcoholism, that has a limited benefit.
