Operating Systems

The Korg editors, both the plug-in and built in, are only compatible with the windows XP (service pack 2 or later) and Windows Vista. If you have windows versions other than these, the machine will not function as well, if the software downloads at all. There are many machines out there that run older versions of the windows operating systems. These can be upgraded reasonably cheaply in most cases, depending upon where you shop. Remember that your key code for your operating system is stored on your computer under the administrator’s information and can be viewed and written down if needed. The device will not work with windows 7.

Terminology

Your new M50 instructions use terminology that is related to computer terminology. The words may be confusing to those who do not know that much about computers or how to operate them, however, this is easily overcome with a few terminology refresher or learning classes. Keyboard Preference

While you do not necessarily have to know how to play the piano to learn to use a Korg M50, it is a tremendous advantage. If you are used to playing a piano, the M50 comes in a workstation with 88 keys that are hammer weighted to give the look and feel of a piano keyboard. If you do not play piano, the 61 and 73 key M50 is more than enough to play virtually any song. IF you are musically inclined, you simply cannot go wrong with the Korg M50, especially if you want to mix entire songs or want to be able to perform a live act, either with a band or solo.
