#1 Positive Self Talk

Throughout your weight loss journey you may have developed negative self-statements. This is a very normal response after failing to lose weight permanently after, even after trying many diets. When you try a diet, you may see some initial weight loss. However, many diets end up failing because you are so limited in the foods that you can eat. This restriction leads can lead to weight gain. This cycle of losing and regaining weight can continue with many new diets. After continuously meeting with failure, you may begin to use negative self-talk. One common message is “I will never be able to lose weight”. The best tip for losing weight is to determine the negative statements you tell yourself. Once you have done that, develop a list of alte
ative positive statements. This will keep you in a positive frame of mind when losing weight.

#2 Listen to your body

One of the best ways to begin losing weight in a natural and healthy manner is to develop a relationship with your body. You must listen to what your body needs. Other diets tell you to limit food and go against what your body is craving. You begin to feel frustrated and ultimately give up on the diet. By eating what your body needs, you are not denying yourself the pleasure of eating. This positive relationship with food helps you focus on staying healthy and happy as you lose weight. In order to lose weight naturally, you should eat when your body says that it is hungry and stop when it is full.

#3 Alte
ative Activities

Many times when we have an unhealthy relationship with food, we begin to eat when we are not hungry. This can happen when you are bored or upset. You begin to see food as something that can make you feel better, rather than something that can nurture your body. When these stressful times come up, it is a good idea to have a list of alte
ative activities that you can do when you are tempted to eat before you are hungry. Plan times when you can get together with your friends or curl up with a good book instead of eating when you get bored or upset.

There are many diets out there that promise weight loss. Diets that limit your food intake may work in the beginning, but they always seem to result in weight gain in the end. We can begin losing weight in a healthier way by developing positive self-talk. By listening to your body, you can stop eating when you are full. Following this simple step helps you avoid weight gain due to overeating. You can also find activities to participate in when you are feeling the need to eat when you are not hungry. By using a non-diet approach and following these three weight loss tips, you can achieve your weight loss goals.
