Thyroid Gland: The thyroid gland is one of the most important gland in the human body. It works under the supervision of pituitary gland, which is located in the brain and it produces one of the important hormone called TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone). The thyroid gland produces two important hormones called triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4), which controls the metabolism of the body. These hormones also control the heart beat levels and burning count of the calories. Thyroid hormones are most important in blood. The deficiency or overproduction of the TSH Hormone which is produced by the pituitary gland shows effect on the thyroid functionality. If the thyroid gland unable to produce a sufficient count of hormones. It leads to hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism. Hypothyroidism: Hypothyroidism is a state that if the pituitary gland produces more count of TSH hormones. This shows an effect on the production of thyroid hormones. As a result hypothyroidism occurs. Causes: • Deficiency of iodine causes hypothyroidism. • Surgical or radiology treatment for thyroid gland causes hypothyroidismrn• The baby who born with the underdeveloped thyroid also likely to develop hypothyroidismrn• Some medicine for special diseases also sometimes causes hypothyroidism. • If the production of the TSH hormone is decreased, it also develops hypothyroidism Symptoms: • Feeling tiredrn• Sudden gaining weight • Muscle weaknessrn• Skins becomes dry and palern• Constipationrn• Slow heart rate Hyperthyroidism: Hyperthyroidism also called as an overactive thyroid. Underactive thyroid occurs due to over production of TSH hormone. The TSH overproduction shows an effect on the production of thyroid hormones. As a result the hyperthyroidism occurs. Causes: • Autoimmune disorderrn• Excessive intake of Iodinern• Treatment for hypothyroidism, excessive thyroid hormones causes hyperthyroidism. • Stress is also one of the major factors for hyperthyroidism Symptoms: • Intolerance of heatrn• Feeling hotter than the surroundingsrn• Excessive sweatingrn• Weight lossrn• Fatiguern• Decrease of concentration Treatment: The defects of the thyroid may suspect by seeing above symptoms. If the physician unable to know the status of the disease, the blood test is the best way to diagnose the disease. Once the blood test is done the physician will come to know the severity of the disease, by that he may start the treatment. Many modern medicines are available now a days. But the best and safest one is homeopathic treatment. Homeopathic treatment is natural, safe and easy to maintain. Many professionals and experienced doctors recommend homeopathic treatment. Because it is safer. The blood test for women especially pregnant women should be done if any of the above symptoms are seen. For pregnant women, the blood test should be done before delivery and after delivery. The thyroid test should be done to babies in order to confirm that the baby is being developed thyroid gland correctly or not. If the thyroid gland is not developed in the body, it may cause many problems to that baby in future. So it is highly suggested that the blood test should be done to both mother and baby.
