It is a free platform that allows users to share video content that are short and accompanied by music, filters, or other creative features such as comedy clips and movie quotes to imitate.

On the list of the most downloaded apps, TikTok is growing in popularity amid the pandemic and social distancing regulations. The total number of these applications downloaded worldwide has even reached two billion times with around 800 million users.

It's not wrong if TikTok is now referred to as one of the strategies in digital marketing that is widely eyed or often also called TikTok marketing.

What is TikTok marketing?

TikTok marketing is one of the strategies in digital video marketing that uses the TikTok social network as a medium or container. With all its advantages, both in terms of the user community and the features offered, business people can try to market their brands here.

TikTok has even provided TikTok for Business to facilitate business people by providing statistical insights or additional tools to accommodate business needs such as audience engagement and performance analysis.

For brands with a young target audience, TikTok is the right platform, because the average age of users of this application is under 30 years or often also called Gen Z. With millions of submissions to hashtag challenges on TikTok, they are effective brand ambassadors for developing brand awareness.

Short videos whether it’s live action or animation video on TikTok are well-liked for their creative value and relatability. This allows brands and creators to showcase content that is not only authentic, but also engaging. Even with limited resources, TikTok content can still steal the show.

While USG is nothing new in digital marketing, TikTok offers the opportunity for brands to be advertised by millions of people and seen by millions of their connections. Through a hashtag challenge, you can get your audience involved and produce a viral or chain effect that benefits the brand.
