Fried chicken is very easy and simple to cook but cooking it full of flavor is a different thing. There are a lot of ways on how you can prepare fried chicken so that these will taste delicious but it can be quite hard to really get the hang of it. To help you out, here are some tips on how you can make the perfect fried chicken.

Experiment with Different Seasonings

There are indeed a lot of seasonings that you can use when preparing fried chicken. There are some who say that seasoned flour will taste best while others say that crushed saltines or breadcrumbs are the best coating materials. However, you have different preferences from these people who are making these suggestions so for you to find out what will taste best, you need to do some experiments. Combine different herbs and seasonings, taking note of the amount that you are mixing together. When you are already satisfied with one mixture, then you can stick with that to be used for your fried chicken.

The Paper Bag and Shallow Dish Methods

There are two methods on how you can coat fried chicken with seasonings and flour. The first one is the paper bag method wherein you use a strong and roomy paper bag. Put the mixture of seasonings inside and then place the chicken pieces inside, a few at a time. Close the bag and then shake it so that the pieces are coated evenly. This will definitely have less mess for you to clean and that the coating is really even. On the other hand, you can opt for the shallow dish method wherein a dish or a baking pan is used. All you need to do is to coat the chicken by rolling them over the seasoning mixture. Choose what is easier for you to do and what you think is a better method.

Pan Frying or Deep Frying?

These are the two methods on how you can prepare fried chicken. When pan frying, it is recommended for you to use a heavy skillet with deep sides. The oil should be around one inch deep in the skillet so that it comes halfway up the chicken pieces. Meanwhile, for deep frying, more oil will be required as compared to that of pan frying. For this method, you will need to use fresh oil so that there will not be unnecessary flavors on the chicken. Also, for both methods, one very important factor is to make sure that the oil is already hot before placing the chicken. As soon as the fried chicken is already cooked, remove them from the skillet and arrange them in a pan, then cover with paper towels to keep them warm.

Cooking fried chicken at home is much healthier than having them from fast food restaurants. This way, you are sure that the seasonings you use are what you prefer and that you can choose to use the healthy oils. You can also be sure about the proper sanitation which helps avoid health problems. Keep these tips in mind when cooking fried chicken and you will surely be looking forward to enjoying a delicious meal.
