Be patient with your parents!

  • Stand on a piece of paper and write your parents names on it. As you step onto it imagine you are stepping into your parents view of the word. Really get inside their heads and see through their eyes. What do they see……. what do they hear….. and how do they feel about going on a family holiday? What do they want the time together to be like? Why do they want that?
  • Now imagine a time 5 years or 10 years from now and you have left home. Imagine looking back on this holiday. What do you want to remember? What do you want your parents to remember? How can you make sure this memory is a happy one for everyone? What part can you play?
  • How can you express yourself respectfully putting across where you would like to go and some things you would like to do on your holiday? Imagine you are a highly paid lawyer, like Eli Stone. How would he put his case to the jury? Have fun playing with this idea in your imagination and find convincing evidence to support where you would like to go on holiday – being fair, impartial and have everyone’s best interest at heart….. and rest your case!
