  • To show discrepancies: Some companies can find it highly beneficial to highlight gaps by comparing two sets of relevant data; this forms a strong call-to-action for potential customers to take things further.
  • To include social proof: This is the name given to the mentality of ‘if other people are doing it, I should be doing it, too”. In terms of online marketing, this can be a huge selling point.
  • To show success: This is another way to back up your argument or opinion and to add credibility to your campaign. You don’t even need to use a full case study – just a quote or a statistic is fine.
  • To help explain something: Occasionally, it can be difficult to explain something using only words. With the help of a graph, however, you can clearly demonstrate what you’re talking about.
  • To include original data: In an online marketing campaign, nothing makes people sit up straighter and pay attention faster than original data does – you could even get some media coverage!
  • To portray data visually: The aim of many campaigns is to go viral and visual content is definitely the best way to do this. Potential customers can share you with their friends via Facebook or Twitter.

By using even one or two of the above tips for including data in your content, you could be well on your way to ‘spicing’ up your online marketing campaign and increasing your chances of getting new customers. Remember to make sure that you are including data correctly as a part of your marketing campaign, and you will find more and more people starting to pay attention.
