You may have scoured the net by typing in relevant keywords or phrases that are related to your particular job experience. It is not uncommon to find a work experience related online form that prompts you to complete the required information on a job board site. But is this enough to land you the perfect job? There are a couple of things that should be foremost in your mind when attempting to create your resume. If you simply rely on the online forms provided by some career sites or other job boards, then you might end up losing out on a once in a lifetime opportunity. After all, your resume serves as your first impression when being viewed by the hiring manager in the Human Resources department. It could either make you stand out from the other applicants or, fail to create a favorable impression altogether and land in the garbage bin. You need to remember that any hiring manager work against time, and would only spend around 40 to 50 seconds in scanning your resume. Having some eye catching information written may very well land you on their short list. Key Points to Remember When Creating Your Resume One of the first steps when creating your resume should be to mention your job objective within the first 2 to 3 lines of your resume. You are promoting your strong points which is why you should focus on highlighting your achievements from previous jobs that are relevant to the position you are applying for now. Ensure that your resume is easy on the eye. This can be accomplished by making use of easy to understand words and phrases. In addition, the resume should be no longer than 2 pages. It would be best to make use of bullet points where possible and it will make it easy for the hiring manager to scan your resume.
