Blushing is caused by an emotional and visual response to a certain situation, and is associated to the emotions of fear, shame, guilt, embarrassment, ridicule and of course with being in love. Facial blushing can cause pain and embarrassment. What makes it even worse is when someone notices that you are blushing and then you start to go even more red. Excessive blushing can make you lose all your confidence and turn you into an introvert. How does blushing start? Well, blushing can start at an early age by experiencing an embarrassing, or painful incident. This could be at school, like being praised in front of the class, or being told off and then being laughed at by your classmates. Another thing that can trigger blushing is being caught doing something that you might be ashamed of. Once this deep sensation of embarrassment, or shame sets in, the mind will then create a negative memory of the moment which will then sink right down into the unconscious mind. Consciously you may be unaware of the memory especially if it happened a long time ago, but what will happen is whenever you feel that you are being watched by others this old memory will automatically resurface from the unconscious mind, this then will lead to self-consciousness and then blushing. Like I said before blushing is an automatic response to a situation, and once the process starts it is almost impossible to stop. The thing is the more you try to stop blushing the more redder you'll become. When a person blushes the blood vessels in the face broaden which in turn allows more blood to pass through to the skin. The minute muscles in the blood vessels usually keep the vessels slightly squeezed, but during a blushing period, nerves in the body send signals to relax these muscles and then that's when the hot feeling and redness starts. The following techniques are great to help you stop blushing: 1. Accept that you blush for now The more comfortable you are with yourself and accept that for now that you blush the easier it will be to stop it. Tell yourself, "I will not allow blushing to have a negative influence on my life." 2. Relax Now stand in front of a mirror and relax your shoulders and then take 10 deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth keeping the shoulders relaxed through out. This kind of breathing will smooth away any tension in the body because the more tense you are the more blood flows into your face. 3. Fixed eye gaze Now that you are relaxed look in the mirror and fix your attention to the spot between your eyes where the indentation is at the top of the nose. 4. Think of an enjoyable memory Now think of a time that you really enjoyed something this could be a film, holiday being with friends any thought that makes you happy, remember to still look between your eyes while you'r doing this. Repeat this exercise every day for a month because it takes at least a month for a habit to form in the mind. Every time you think your about to blush when talking to someone just do the deep breathing and look at the spot between that person's eyes and think of your happy memory. The above techniques will automatically stop you blushing because the mind will be to occupied in the memory, and will forget to blush. Just a final thought everyone has had the experience of being embarrassed (it's not nice for anyone) so don't pull your self down about it. Good luck!

While I was waiting for my dance class to start, I watched an instructor patiently coach a couple through what was obviously one of their first lessons. The instructor was having them do a “box step,” which is what it sounds like. A “box” made with your feet. It consists of two parts, a forward half box and a backward half box. Each half box has three steps: a step forward or backward, a step to the side, and a step to close the feet together. The instructor was counting out
