Before you reach your goals, there may be some obstacles in the way. However, lumps and bumps on the skin caused by cellulite is definitely something else. Anybody with this problem would want to get rid of it as soon as possible.
Not many are aware that the food you eat can actually contribute to the formation of nasty fat deposits underneath the skin. There are types of food that enhance the health of your skin, but there are also some that promote the formation of these nasty fat lumps. Here is a guide to the food that you should eat or avoid to minimize your risk for having dimpled skin.
Food To Eat
Onion
In ancient times, onion juice is massaged onto the bodies of gladiators because they believe this vegetable can help make muscles look bigger. Well, there are no studies proving that onion juice rubbed on the body can eliminate cellulite and make muscles bigger, but onion can be a good cellulite buster because it is a natural diuretic which will help get rid of excess water in the cells of your skin. Hence, it would be best to include this bulb in your diet. If you find it hard to eat onion by itself, you could simply add this bulb to your meals.
Berries
The fat cells beneath the skin, which we know as cellulite, usually contain toxins and waste products. If you don't want to have this problem, you have to get rid of wastes and toxins inside your body, particularly the intestines. Berry is one type of food that is very rich fiber, which is crucial in the elimination of toxins and waste substances inside the body. Blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries are also rich in cell-repairing antioxidants.
Fruits and Vegetables
One of the reasons why subcutaneous fat can be noticeable is due to the shrinking and deterioration of the wall of fat cells that can be caused by free radicals. In order to strengthen these collagen-based cell walls, you need to eat a lot of food that is rich in antioxidants, particularly vitamins A, C and E. Antioxidants eradicates free radicals and helps restore and rebuild the cells in your body.
Increasing your intake of fruits and vegetables to six to nine servings a day is important in providing your body the necessary nutrients to fight free radicals and to protect the health of your skin and tissues.
Food to Avoid
Alcohol
Not only will consumption of too much alcohol make fat cells bigger, it also slows down blood flow because contributes to the absorption of fat and toxins in your blood stream. Furthermore, alcohol also makes it hard for your body to absorb nutrients, particularly vitamins C and A, necessary for the elimination of free radicals.
Caffeine
You should limit drinking beverages that are rich in caffeine to one to two cups a day if you do not want to have cottage-cheese thighs and arms. Caffeine contributes to the creation of toxins and to poor blood circulation.
Refined Carbohydrates
Instead of eating white bread, well-milled rice and other refined carbohydrates, it would be better to stick to whole grain variety. Foods that are rich in refined carbohydrates augment the formation of fat cells in your body.
Sugar
Consumption of too much sugar is also a big factor in your fat formation and poor blood circulation. If you reduce sugar consumption, you will not only be helping eliminate cellulite, but you will also help manage your weight and lower your risk of developing diabetes and other serious illnesses.
Aside from adapting an anti-cellulite diet, you should also exercise regularly. If you already have orange-peel-looking skin, you can also use cellulite creams and lotions to minimize the appearance of bumps and lumps on your skin. One cellulite lotion you can use is Celrase.
