When thinking about kitchen, people usually think of it as the heart of the home. It is the place where mothers do the cooking and children help making the meal, a place to make a delicious stuffed roast chicken, bake a chocolate tart or mix up a fancy deep blue soda. The kitchen always bring a warm and cozy atmosphere to me, and I set all the workload, deadline and stress aside to fully cook for my family members with my heart. However, it can be a big mess and chaos for us to take care after finishing the cooking or serving a big family gathering meal. Therefore, today I want to share five steps to keep your kitchen nice and clean.
  1. Preparing supplies
First, you need to gather all the supplies in one place so it is very helpful to store your cleaning supplies in a room to avoid running to separated closet to find them. It will save your valuable time, especially when you have a tons of work to do and a messy kitchen to clean up. For me, I’d like to use cleaning supplies made from natural, non-toxic ingredients because they are safer for everyone including your children and pets. Plus, they don’t leave behind such irritating smell like many conventional cleaning products. Besides cleaning products, you need to keep a checklist so you can remember to clean all the nooks and corners of your kitchen. I always listen to my favorite playlist to get through all the process of cleaning. Simply because having something to entertain will make the time pass faster and make you less tired. Trust me, kitchen deep cleaning work is not a piece of cake.
  1. Cleaning the sink
First, put on the gloves and get the scouring pads to wash all the pots and pans and give the sink a thorough scrubbing. Then toss half a lemon and a little white vinegar down the disposal to keep the fresh smell.
  1. Cleaning the surface
Now, it’s time to wipe down all of the kitchen surface. You need to keep a basket on hand to gather anything that don’t belong in the kitchen or need to be moved out while cleaning. First, start with a squeegee to sweep any crumbs away then spray all the surface with the cleaning product, wait for a minute then wipe with a sponge. Letting it sit for a minute helps soften crust and break down grime so that the work of cleaning can be a bit easier for you. Repeat the same steps with other spots like cupboard, wall, backsplash…Finally, use a clean cloth to wipe dry everything including any decorative accessories.
  1. Cleaning appliances
Cleaning the appliance is good way to fully deep clean your kitchen. For the fridge, begin by emptying every shelves and toss away any food pasted its prime and give each shelf a good wipe. My tip to neutralize the odor is to keep an open baking soda box inside and freezer. Cleaning the microwave and the oven and tea kettle can be so tough, but don’t worry because you can apply my tricks for a less energy-consuming process. Putting a wet cotton towel and microwave it for 3 to 5 minutes on high temperature. The steam from the towel help to soften the grime, then you can use that towel to wipe the interior. The oven racks won’t be so hard to scrub if you put it in warm and soapy water first. Then dispose any crumbs in the oven to complete the task of cleaning appliances.
  1. Cleaning the floor
Remember to give the floor a thorough sweeping, then take your mop and the floor cleaner to do your usual task. However, it wouldn’t be a deep cleaning if you didn’t pay attention to the spaces below the sink because it is where water and grease spots gather. After taking out the trash and washing all the sponges and scrub brushes, your kitchen cleaning work will finally be finished. Keep following my advices and your kitchen will be as clean as new.
