Whether you work at a desk all day or you lay bricks all day back pain is something you want to avoid. The following tips may help you with ways to do just that. A healthy back is key to overall health care. If you sit and stare at a computer all day long make sure that the screen is at your eye level. You should have a good chair to sit in and don't slump but sit up straight so that you're not curving your spine too much.rnIf you can get up out of your chair and do some stretching and walk a few steps to get loosened up and too get your circulation flowing better. When you are trying to reach for something on a high shelf be sure you don't end up over stretching with one side of your body because it may cause you to pull one of your back muscles which will then give you the back pain you want to avoid. When you read in bed place pillows under the small part of your back and behind your neck so that you don't slouch causing an unnatural position for your spine. This may lead to back pain when you get up the next morning. If you do wake up with back pain do not stay in bed. Too much bed rest will cause weakness in your back muscles and loss of flexibility. If you are overweight this will also put extra strain on your back and doing even simple tasks may cause back pain. You should start some kind of exercise routine but be sure to begin slowly so that you don't over do it and make your back worse. Swimming is a good way to exercise because water helps to make you more buoyant and then there is less stress on your muscles and back. When you have to pick up something heavy be sure to bend your knees so that your legs will help relieve the back muscles somewhat and this may help you avoid a back ache. Don't overdo it if you work in the yard. When you are raking up leaves every so often stop and do some easy stretches. This may help to release some of the tension on your back muscles. Also try raking with your left hand for a little while and then rake with your right hand again. Raking only one way for a long time will over extend the back muscles on one side causing you to get a back ache. At least four out of every ten people suffer from back pain. So if you do not want to be part of that group try to use some of the tips above so that you may be able to avoid getting back pain.
