Microsoft DevOps is a versatile cloud-based platform used intensively by software developers. The DevOps services provide solutions to all issues related to software development, starting from planning to its deployment. The platform offers a wide range of security measures to ensure your software development project is safe and secured. rnIn this article, we will discuss the Azure DevOps Security measures which will protect your project from any damage.rn1. Control: You need to retain control of software development projects and assign duties to your team members according to their skills. Determining the clear duties to each individual will help in controlling human mistakes that can be risky for the project. It also ensures that only allowed people can access the particular function, data, and features.rnThere are two ways by which you can access the control of users: ● Permission Management: As the name suggests, it allows or denies access to any feature. Depending upon your needs, you can determine the permission of accessing various functions and features offered by the platform. The users added to the security group are allowed to enjoy all the permissions assigned to all the members in that particular group. ● Access Level Management: Where the permission management allows the use of specific features and functions, the access level management is related to the permission for using the features available offered in the platform. It is extra permission determined by security groups.rn2. Control Over Visibility: With the help of Azure DevOps Services, you can determine the visibility of your project from public to private. The users not signed to your organization can only access the projects that you allowed for the public. On the other side, if they have signed in, they are allowed to access your private projects and make the necessary changes. There are two ways to control the visibility of Azure DevOps: ● Using the Project Settingsrn● Using Organization Settings rn3. Protecting Repositories From Damaging: It is one of the most important features of Azure DevOps Services. It allows you to determine the safety measures that protect the repositories of your project from damage by others. To protect the repositories of your project you can follow these steps: ● Determine repository and branch policiesrn● Determine repository and branch permissionsrn4. Review of Audit Logs: Azure DevOps Services offer the facility to audit the logs that took place within your organization during the last 90 days. In this way, you can check all the suspicious activities that can be risky for the security of your platform. The audit logs are recorded whenever someone within the network makes any change in the policies, removing, accessing, and creating features. To check the audit logs go to the dashboard of your organization, click on the activity you want to audit and click organization settings on the sidebar. rn5. Implementing Web Application Firewalls: Implementing the Web Application Firewalls can protect the deployment of Azure DevOps Services. By configuring Web Application Firewalls (WAF) you can filter, track, and block any suspicious traffic coming to your Azure DevOps Services and vice-versa. WAF applies certain rules that keep a strict watch on traffic and tracks any abnormal activities.
