When just starting out investing, you might be presented with a full and wide array of choices regarding brokers, deals and special courses that will make you rich overnight! Be careful with all those investment options because they might get you off track and then, instead of just losing money on the markets, you will also be losing money playing these self-claimed “gurus” that are trying their best efforts to sell you their product. Sometimes these “gurus” are in fact unsuccessful traders that could not make any money on-line and are now trying to make money somewhere else.

Question everything you read

Do not take this lightly, question all and everything you read or that is presented to you. This article included! The internet has brought big and countless advantages to a person that know how do research and is not afraid of learning. But since, pretty much everyone can write and say whatever they want about themselves, including lies, it is getting harder and harder to judge who is real and who is not, and because of this you must be aware all the times when you are reading something in the World Wide Web that the person who is writing, might not be the most successful person ever. He might just be a good seller!

I would recommend when you have just begun investing and/or trading to not go out buying all those expensive courses that the World Wide Web has to offer. Do spend some money on education but spend it wisely. After all, there is a great quote from Derek Curtis that he wrote in his book, and still today I do believe that is one of the most smart and clever advices anyone could give:

"If you think education is expensive, try ignorance."
Derek Curtis

Conclusion

Do spend some money education but go out and buy famous and recommended books like the ones from Alexander Elder, Joe Ross and many other authors. These authors know what they are doing and write very well. It will be a good start and it will provide you with enough knowledge to better evaluate all the offers on the web to see who the real deal is. After one year of trading, investing and reading, then you might buy something a bit more expensive if you believe it will enhance your performance.
