I have decided to write this post in regard to our current "economic situation" that our world seems to be suffering from today. On my health and vitality blog, with my personal clients, and in my home with my family I have tried to steer clear of this subject as a whole as it is my sincere belief that what happens to each of us moment to moment is a result of the decisions and actions that we each make and take!nnI am of course compassionate to each and every individual who is "struggling" at this time in their lives, whether it be financially, or in their career, or having difficulty with their loved ones, but I must suggest that in order to move out of this "situation" a change in mind-set is needed.nnI say this simply because I feel that the biggest contributor to the crisis is the fact that you can't walk more than ten feet without someone speaking to you about it, seeing a news headline, or a presenter mentioning it. "What you think about most, you attract!" So what is the effect of millions upon millions of people all talking about the same thing?nnYou guessed it, more of the same!nnNow, what's the good news? There are still millions upon millions of people who are making lots and lots of money even though we are in a depression. I am not sure about now, but I know the first time that Wall Street crashed in the early-mid twentieth century was the time in history when the most millionaires was ever created in one day.nnNot as much doom and gloom as you think then?nnSo what to do about it? Keep thinking on the bright side, and "don't sweat the small stuff." Treat everything like small stuff and truly appreciate every day, every minute, every breath you take, and every moment on this planet.nnI am currently reading 'Emergency' by Neil Strauss and the Epilogue in the back of the book reads:nn"She was a nineteen-year-old student. She sang, played piano, and went to church every Sunday. Today, there was a C.E.M.P. call-out to Northridge, where an SUV sped through a red light and hit her as she was crossing the street. Her body flew several dozen feet through the air before landing face-first on the ground. The jewelry she was wearing clatterred across the intersection. The artwork she was carrying scattered in the wind. She seemed talented. She seemed smart. She seemed generous. She never had a chance. It could have just as easily been me. It could have just as easily been you. But it was her. Tomorrow, though, is another day."nnThis story tells me to appreciate the moments right now; AND keep planning for tomorrow. If you appreciate right now, with a clear goal in your mind of what you are trying to achieve and "working for", then you won't need a "crisis" in the first place.

When people feel depressed, they often feel a sense of shame. Although the world in some ways is changing for the better, there is still a certain amount of stigma associated with mental health challenges.
