As we all know, exercise is the only way to guarantee a permanent change in your fat and muscle physiology if you want to lose weight and maintain your fit body figure. Because of the abundance of exercise misinformation from the media and from our friends, there are a number of common exercise misconceptions that I would like to address. Below are the top 3 myths of exercise:

How can I spot reduce my thighs?

If they haven’t asked about their thighs, then it’s their stomach or buttock or hips. There is no such thing as spot reducing. A thousand leg lifts won’t get rid of your thigh fat. A thousand sit-ups won’t get rid of your abdominal fat. They may tone the muscle unde
eath the fat, but you will not see much change in your body. No matter what the popular fitness magazines lead you to believe, spot reducing doesn’t work.

The only way to get rid of fat anywhere on your body is through aerobic exercise. When you go out for a walk, fat will released from all the fat cells in your body. The fat cells on your hips, buttocks and thighs will be the most reluctant to release fat. But they will, even if it is at a snail’s pace. All activities are fat reducing and therefore spot reducing over time.

How can I get rid of this cellulite?

First of all, there is really no such thing as cellulite. Cellulite is fat. It is a term that someone outside of the medical profession came up with to describe the bumpy pockets that fat forms under the skin.

Although there are many over-the-counter remedies for cellulite, don’t waste your money. The only remedy is exercise. Any cream that could dissolve the cellulite would dissolve your skin first. The wildest remedy I’ve come across is the Vacuum Pants; the claim was they suck the cellulite out through your skin. If they were successful in sucking out the cellulite, they would suck out your blood vessels along with it.

What is the best time of day to exercise?

On the same day, two clients read in the same paper about two different best time to exercise and both their rationales make sense. “I read that Morning is the best time because it boosts your metabolism for the rest of the day. “ “I heard that evenings are the best as that’s when your metabolism is starting to slow down and the exercise will give it a boost.’

There is no best time to exercise as far as your metabolic rate and fat-bu
ing potential are conce
ed. The actual best time for you is when it most realistically fits into your life.

Movement is one of the most honest forms of self-connection. The body never lies. It holds stress, records emotion, and reveals when something feels off. For many, this is why exercise has always been more than fitness; it’s therapy through motion. But not all movement heals. Some styles exhaust, others distract. True healing often begins in the slow, intentional kind, the kind that lets the body lead and the mind follow.rnThat’s where precision-based training, such as re
