It has been noted that most of the people shed about 50 to 100 strands of hairs on a daily basis. This doesn’t cause any noticeable thinning of the scalp as new stands keep growing. But, then at times this cycle of growing stops and the scalp just keep on shedding hairs. No matter at what age it happens, it becomes a matter of worry and people start becoming conscious of their self-image. The exact causes of hair loss are not known but there are a lot of factors which are related to it.  Listed below are a few of the factors that cause excessive hair fall. Hereditary (Family History) Heredity is perhaps the most common cause and causes male-patterned baldness or female patterned baldness. It starts to occur slowly and causes bald spots and receding hairline in men and thinning in women. Heredity is also the factor that has an effect on the age that you begin to lose hair at, the extent of baldness and the rate of the loss. For instance, patterned baldness which is more common in men can at times begin as early as in puberty.  This kind of hair loss might involve miniaturization as well as thinning. Hormonal Imbalance It has been seen that a woman's hormones begin to decline from the age of 30 and that is, in fact, one of the causes of hair loss. Excessive dihydrotestosterone (DHT) conversion can bring about this change. Estrogen is the main hormone that the women’s body produces but testosterone and androgens like DHEA are also produced in the female body. As the body reaches a certain age, these androgens start converting to DHT and cause several hormonal imbalances in women. Issues like thyroid, PCOS, pregnancy and birth control pills are also contributing factors towards thinning. Excessive Stress Extreme stress can also be a major cause. People experience excessive shedding for months due to stress. People must know how to relax and wind down a bit. After all, we all have one life and that is meant to be enjoyed. People experiencing excessive stress are often advised to meditate as that helps in calming down and finding peace within oneself. Minimizing worries would also reduce your chances of shedding and thinning. try whatever help you to relax like an aromatherapy, meditation or seek professional help if required. Medical Conditions There are several medical conditions which could also be the major cause. Conditions like scalp Psoriasis, Alopecia Areta, Folliculitis, Seborrheic dermatitis, Ringworm cause hair loss in both men and women. In most of these conditions, the follicles are damaged and thus cause shedding. Ageing The rate of hair growth tends to slow down as we reach a certain age. The strands start becoming smaller, turn rather fine and gray and have comparatively lesser pigments. Consuming healthier foods and having a healthy lifestyle can slow down this process. Finding the root cause of the problem can actually help to find the best Hair treatment option. try seeking professional help if you notice an unusual pattern of thinning and bald spots.
