Kitesurfing in Srilanka is the favorite sport of everyone but choosing the best place for kitesurfing is very difficult because everybody wants consistent winds, smooth water, warm weather, readable waves, silky and smooth water.

There is a list of top best places for kitesurfing that are must see for new or experienced riders.

  • MAUI:

It is located in Hawaii, USA and the closest airport is Kahului Airport. It's the top location for kitesurfing as it has warm temperatures, consistent winds and cool party atmosphere away from the water.

It has so much coastline, almost 50km of beaches. Hookipa beach park is famous, if you are good and brave enough in winter, you can tackle infamous jaws.

  • TARIFA:

It is located in Southern spain, nearest airport is Gibraltar, Jerez and Malaga. You should visit this place from April to November.

This is easy to reach location and it's Europe's top spot for kitesurfing with 10km of beach, consistent winds and more than a 300 days of sun a year, coupled with buzzing vibes and great spanish food.

  • LA VENTANA:

It is located at Baja California, Maxico, nearest airports are La Paz and Los Cabos International and you should visit it from November to March. It is towards the Eastern side of Baja California Peninsula, it is often flat calm, with warm turquoise water and wind conditions are ideals for all.

Since last year, the lagoon behind the beach converted into the kite park. This wide, uncrowded beach has side shore winds that make it easy to launch and speeds are lower for beginners in the morning and evening, but stronger in the middle of day for experienced kiters. The fishing village is also nice and has good food.

  • KALPITIYA:

It is located in Sri lanka and Bandaranaike International Airport is the closest one. May to September is the best time to go there. The resort sits on a narrow sandbar on the west side of Sri Lanka, protecting it from the mighty swells of the Indian Ocean. It is a famous place for pro riders to practice.

It is famous for the shallow waters on its flat long, wide lagoon, it's a great place for beginners. It's ocean side offers fun, manageable waves especially in the winter season for those who want something more advanced.

  • MUI NE:

It is located in Vietnam, nearest airport is Ho Chi Minh City (4h 30m), You can visit it from November to March but also you can visit from May to October. This sandy beach on the South China Sea is Asia's kitesurfing capital.

Sadly this region has grown from a deserted paradise to a busy resort and pollution means the water is not as pristine as it once was, while the central section of beach is concrete, not sand.

  • CUMBUCO:

It is located at North East Brazil, July to December is the good time to go there. The long shallow lagoon provides plenty of flat water, with the south reserved for beginners and the north for the more adventurous, while further out, a sandbar creates some decent waves.

The region of Fortaleza is blessed with plenty of beach resorts bathed in sunshine and hit by cross shore trade winds all year round.

  • TAVEUNI ISLAND, FIJI:

It is a perfect kitersurfing spot blessed with strong consistent winds funneled between the Islands around Taveuni. It is the third largest Island in Fiji and it offers a plenty of activities for a day offf kitesurfing. You should explore one of the famous dive sites with Taveuni ocean sports, hike out to the Tavoro waterfalls, have dinner at Coconut grove Restaurant and enjoy the Fijan cuisine with an ocean view.
