Controlling your portion size is essential for a successful weight loss diet program. People usually do not believe in reducing portion sizes or plate sizes to aid their weight loss efforts. However, ask any person who has achieved permanent weight loss and you can be sure they will mention portion control as part of their weight loss effort. Portion control can be effectively used to cut down calories while still enjoying your favorite foods. Here in this article we will look at some easy tips to help you control your portion size. Portion Control: Tips Here are some effective and easy tips to help control your portion size as well as prevent overeating to aid your weight loss efforts. 1.Store leftovers in separate containers: Rather storing all your leftovers in one large container, divide and store them separately in smaller containers. So the next time you attack the refrigerator looking for something to eat, you will only be taking out smaller portions. Reducing your meal sized portions to single helpings will also help to cut down your calorie consumption without any extra effort. 2.Order lunch sized portions when eating out: When eating out, try and eat at places which offer you the option of ordering lunch sized portions. Lunch sized servings are usually smaller as compared to full sized items. If ordering lunch sized portions is not an option consider ordering from the kid’s menu. Not only will this help to trim away inches from your waist but will also save you money. 3.Opt for half sized portions: Next time you feel like gorging on your favorite food, opt for just half the serving you would normally eat. This is a great way to cut down your calorie consumption by half. For example, if you generally order a deli sandwich during lunch, eat just half of it and get the rest packed in a take away bag. Replace the chips with carrot sticks. If hunger strikes again, try eating a fruit. Fruits are high in fiber content and so take longer to digest. This helps to keep you feeling full longer thus preventing weight gain. Incorporating these tips on controlling portion size in your weight loss diet plan can go a long way to help you lose weight in a healthy manner.
