Tourist Attraction in Torrevieja

Torrevieja is a town located near the huge salt water lagoons Laguna de Torrevieja and Laguna de la Mata. The former has scenic attraction to it with its pinkish waters as a result of a very rare bacterium that exists in specific climes. These two lagoons forms a healthy microclimate making Torrevieja unique is a special way. Apart from the lagoons which call visitors from different parts of Spain and the world in general, Torrevieja also has other interesting attractions among them splendid beaches. Beaches have remained to be a favorite for any tourists and any place that has many of the beaches will for sure experience crowds during the peak season. The beaches here occupy 14 kilometers opening great fun activities for all who come here. Playa de La Mata is one of the many beaches that you will find here and it is situated next to Laguna de la Mata Natural Park. It is the biggest beach in this region occupying a whole 2 kilometers of the area. The sand dunes are quite wide accommodating the huge number of holidaymakers flocking here. The beach promenade is the easiest way of accessing the beach and has many restaurants and bars. The disabled have been minded and the beach is therefore accessible also to them. Playa de Cabo Cervera is another amazing beach on the South at Cape Cervera. The tower Moro is the most outstanding feature in the beach and it is used as a viewpoint of Santa Pola cape and Mar Menor coast on the south. Those looking for some quiet time can go to Las Calas beach which very beautiful and quiet and also a hot spot for divers. However, those looking for some lively action are better off in Playa de Los Locos within the town. It has lots of facilities and the great fun and numbers leave it very lively. Perhaps the most popular beach in Torrevieja, Playa del Cura is the best place to be while here. It has numerous beaches, bars and restaurants. You will even get the chance to try out the specialty Pulpo seco which is sun dried squid cooked in an open fire then served with lemon juice and olive oil villas cambrils. The squid is taken down with liquor made of aniseed, water and ice. Water sports can be best enjoyed on the two marinas here and natural basins are also a site to behold. There are also plenty of festivals, concerts, theater and exhibitions to be enjoyed in Torrevieja.
