Traditional Dress of Marathi bride The traditional dress of Maharashtra bride is called the Paithani saree. It originates from the Paithani District of Maharashtra state. The Paithani saree can either be woven in Kanjeevaram silk or Benarasi silk. Green and yellow with a gold border are among the common colors a Maharashtrian bride wears. However, though the style of draping, fabric and design remains more or less the same, the colors of the traditional dress of Maharashtra keep changing.
