Jewellery has its own significance for each every civilizations and society. Although the market today is filled with jewellery of trend setting modern designs however, these designs could never substitute the charm of the traditional ones as they are rooted to the cultures. Each and every jewellery has its own aura be it modern or the traditional ones! Jewellery is timeless and not bounded by time. Nevertheless the designs and style evolve and resurfaces with changing time. Jewellery has its significance in each and every society and region especially it forms the core of Indian culture and societal norms. Be it any metal jewellery it is integral and is closely linked to the Indian traditions. Similar to India, jewellery has both spiritual and artistic importance for all the civilization since the starting of the mankind’s development. Be it any celebration especially wedding jewellery is vital and mostly adorned by all. Be it the regular or the virtual market it is full of magnificent jewelleries in outstanding designs and styles. Currently online jewellery is becoming frequent and most accepted. In the earlier days several buyers used to be apprehensive about purchasing from online stores especially jewelleries as it is consider to be the prized possession. Nevertheless with passing time things have changed this notion. The online store has proved their creativity and other benefits, and has also taken efforts to assure security to their clientele. As aforementioned there are numerous styles and trends in jewellery which are seasonal phenomenon but there are some that are timeless and have its charm intact over the generations. In India, jewellery is commonly adorned in everyday life and not only limited to special days. Plus wearing jewellery is not only limited a particular strata of the society. In fact jewellery is considered to be part of women’s attire and a compulsion for married women. Apart from the new age styles and designs there are certain jewellery which are intertwined to culture and tradition and in a way is the essence of this country and this geographical entity. Indian tribal jewelleries are brilliant in its design and are symbolic representation of their aesthetic life that they lead. Each Indian tribe has its own significant jewellery, they are:
  • Banjara: are the nomadic Rajasthan tribes who wear beautiful, colourful, and hefty jewellery. Mostly metal-mesh of silver and copper, beads, chains, shells, coins are embellished as jewelleries. The jewellery has several variations such as bangles, earrings, belts, anklets, nose rings and many others.
  • Bastar tribes: the tribal groups in Bastar in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh use the nature to the fullest for their jewlleries. Grass, cane, and beads are used with silver, glasses, coins, Peacock feathers, flowers are used in their jewelleries.
  • Tribes in Arunachal Pradesh: Cane and bamboo are mostly commonly adorned. One of the unique jewellery to this region is the leather waist belt that is studded with stones. Women of one of the tribe karka Gallong commonly adorned a special ring of iron and ivory.
  • Garo, Khasi and Jaintia: These hill tribes uniquely adorn necklace of red beads and are symbolic of these hard working warrior tribes.
These traditionally jewellery has an aura which could not be substituted by the modern and trendy styles that are preferred by many while shopping jewellery from online store.
