Traditional Water Heater vs. Tankless Water Heater

I imagine a lot of people have heard of these new tankless water heaters.  If you are anything like me, you have gotten pretty curious about how these tankless water heaters work.  My own curiosity drove me to do a little research.  Here is what I found out: As far as I can tell, there is only one similarity between a traditional water heater and a tankless water heater NJ:  both types are available in electric-, natural gas-, and propane-powered varieties.  Other than, that these two types of water heaters are completely different. The primary difference is that a traditional water heater has a storage tank that holds hot water after it has been heated and, every so often, the water heater fires briefly to reheat the water thus keeping the stored water at a nice hot temperature at all times.   A tankless water heater NJ has no such storage tank.  Instead, there is a fairly small unit attached to your water pipes or installed near a specific plumber lakewood fixture that has a heating element in it.  Then, when you turn on your hot water faucet, cold water is let into this unit where it is heated for however long and comes out of the faucet hot. Another big difference between a traditional water heater and a tankless water heater NJ is that you generally need several tankless water heaters to supply the same amount of hot water to your home that one single traditional water heater can supply.  Also, the larger your home is, the more tankless water heaters you will have to install.  In addition to this, if you happen to live in a location that has cold ground water such as the northern states or mountain states,  you will have to buy bigger tankless water heaters than you would need in a warmer climate.  You never have to worry about the climate you live in when you use a traditional water heater. One last note:  I suspect that a traditional hot water heater is considerably easier and less expensive to repair or replace than a tankless water heater NJ.  Just to buy and install new tankless water heaters, you are looking at an investment of several hundreds of dollars to a few thousand dollars. Even with these drawbacks, there are a couple of nice benefits to using a tankless water heater NJ.  For one thing, they are very energy efficient because they only use energy when you actual use your hot water.  There are also some really awesome applications that are well-suited to a tankless water heater.  For example, you could install one under your kitchen sink so that you always have hot water for tea rather than having to heat the kettle every time.  It would also come in handy if you just want to add a shower and a sink somewhere – just install a small tankless heater to supply them with hot water rather than possibly having to replace your entire traditional water heater with a bigger one.
