When you were in school, what did you do for the subjects you were not good in? Either you would have left them or took tuition to acquaint yourself well with the subject. Well, it is just a metaphor and is equally applicable on almost everything. You can deal with a problem only in two ways, either get over it by neglecting it (which does not solve the problem and the ostriches do this) or you can learn how to deal with it. So, when it comes to your pet, and given that he is not like you, and can not express itself in words but still you expect him to behave the way you think, what do you do for him?
The answer is simple, if there are training classes for man, why not for other mammals. They are equally entitled to know the behavioral aspect of the society, just like the men they are living with. And why not, they are also living in the same society so they should also know the rules and abide by them. And in real there are Dog training classes out there to train your favorite pet, where he is given every kind of training that would make him able to live in a civilized society.
Just like you have a room in your home, a dog also has a crate as his room and at the end of the day he is supposed to be there. So crate training is the first thing that is taught to him. It is like a little boy is taught to be in his bed. Then you tell the boy (or girl) to alert you when he feels nature call so that you can put him on the toilet to release it. In the same way a dog trainer teaches a dog about dog potty training and teaches him not to do it every here and there.
There are some other things which are needed to teach a dog. They may be like how to behave in a morning walk, to whom to bark and to whom not to, how to pick the ball in the park. This all comes in the dog obedience training and just like we learn things in the successive classes a dog learns them with the passing time.
Dogs training may be fun and irritating at the same time, especially if the puppy is not willing to learn just like some obnoxious little boy. But eventually when they learn it all, you can proudly say, this is my dog. And if the story goes other way you may be left with no choice but to abandon your little puppy. So give the puppies training such that they won’t let you down.
