India is a country of different culture, traditions, language, cuisine, dress and lifestyle, varying from state to state. This unity in diversity can be seen here in everyday life that makes it an appealing destination for tourist from across the world. An important part of the country, North India is full of destinations of cultural, religious and historical importance.

Delhi

Being the capital city of India, Delhi has a lot to offer to its visitors. Here you can see a perfect blend of traditions as well as in modernity. Famous for its attractions like India Gate, Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Lotus Temple and plenty of food joints, it is preffered by tourists. Also, it is a great destination for shopaholics due to various shopping malls and street markets.

Agra

The city boasts of being home to famous tourist attraction, Taj Mahal. Built by Shah Jahan, a Mughal emperor, the city boasts of several other monuments. These monuments are known for their architectural beauty and historical significance. Agra Fort, Sikandara and Itmad-ud-daula are the other worth-visiting places in Agra.
Jaipur

Known as the 'Pink City', Jaipur is the logical starting point for tourists visiting Rajasthan. The old rajputana culture and the grandeour of kings can be seen here in the form of magnificent forts and palaces. The major landmarks include the Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Albert Hall Museum, Amber Fort and Jantar Mantar. There are several most popular temples in the city including names like Laxmi Narayan Temple, Govind Devji Temple and Swami Narayan Temple.

Udaipur

Being a romantic city, Udaipur is largely visited by thousands of tourists every year. Popularly known as the 'City of lakes', it was founded in 1568. Udaipur is widely known for its fairy-tale palaces, beautiful lakes and lovely gardens. Prime attractions of the city are Lake Palace, City Palace, Jagmandir Palace, Fateh Prakash Palace, Lake Pichola, Saheliyon-Ki-Bari and Jagdish Temple. Tourists can also visit Udaipur Solar Observatory, Eklingji Temple and Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal.

Khajuraho

Khajuraho, the city is better known for its various erotic temples. These temples glorify the erotic motif of Hindu art. Lying amidst the beautiful lawns, these temples are embellished with sensuous sculptures which show that 'Sex' was not a taboo subject during that time. Out of 85 temples, built by the Chandela rulers, only 22 temples have been able to survive till date.

Varanasi

Being an important pilgrimage spot for Hindus, Varansi holds great religious significance for devotees. Also, it is the oldest living city in the world. Often referred as Benares, Varanasi houses various ghats where the evening aarti is a spectacle to watch. Located on the banks of river Ganga in Uttar Pradesh, Varanasi has various temples. The famous ones include Bharat Mata Temple, Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Durga Temple and Tulsi Manas Temple.
