As the holiday season lurks around the corner it is time to get ready with anticipation for the events, get-togethers and merry-making with family and friends. Perhaps your social gatherings take you far away from home and whether you are flying, driving or traveling on a train to your destination of joy there are some steps you can take to make sure that when you arrive at your place of rest that you feel your best.
Being successful while away from home requires planning ahead before you leave for your journey. Just as you plan for meetings, trips to the grocery mart, exercising, going out to dinner, so must you map out your course of action, so that you may feel fantastic while on your journey and also when you descend upon your place of visitation. Why not take heed of these travel tips and set yourself up for success while on your adventure by following a few simple, easy moves?
~Airports, cars and trains all have the tendency to drain your body of fluids due to the air conditioning and lack of fresh air causing you be become dehydrated; travel with water. ~Prepare a small cooler with fruits, veggies, yogurt, cheese sticks, hummus, mini-pita breads, almonds, baggies of whole grain cereal and healthy items you enjoy. ~Stick to your normal meal time schedule and follow your typical agenda. ~Many airports provide workout facilities on their premises. Travel with your workout gear and be ready at all times to cardio your time away. ~Numerous airports are equipped with luxury spas. Take advantage of manicures, pedicures and massages when dealing with layovers and delays. ~Be educated on your hotel amenities. Many lodgings have workout facilities in-house and also provide fitness supplies for use in your room. ~Begin your days away with exercise. Chances are you’ll have plans for the rest of your day and once the social ball begins rolling it will be difficult to find the time to schedule it in. ~Lots of resorts, cruise ships and hotels have personal trainers for hire. Why not treat yourself to some one-on-one time while away. ~When traveling by car take the time to pull over to eat and don’t rush your meal. Schedule in rest breaks, lunch and dinner breaks along the way.
Being away from home doesn’t have to equal lifestyle limbo; plan, follow through and be prepared.
