Dental inflammation is a situation whereby the bacteria gets inside a tooth and causes infection to the soft pulp tissue. If not taken care of early enough, it can get to the tip of the root whereby, it creates a pocket. If inflammation is not treated early enough, it can lead to more serious problems. Dental inflammation is very common to people who don’t practice good and regular dental health care. Dental inflammation is caused by the growth of bacteria from an existing tooth cavity into the soft tissues and bones. If an infected tooth is not early tended to, it can result t dental inflammation. Daily simple practices can go a long way in preventing you from contracting dental inflammation. You need to ensure that you brush and floss daily to fervent tooth decay which is a hub for bacteria growth. There are several symptoms that are quite evident for a person suffering from dental inflammation. For instance; • You experience a lot of severe and persistent toothache and it can radiate to the jawbone and the neck • There is tooth sensitivity especially to the too hot or too cold foods and beverages. • The pressure of chewing and/or biting also brings about tooth sensitivity. • Your cheek and face experience some swelling. • On your neck and jawbone, you get some tender swollen lymph nodes. • There is a sudden rush of bad smell and salty fluid in your mouth and pain relief if the inflammation ruptures. • With advanced infection, you can suffer from nausea, vomiting, diarrhea etc. • Sometimes, there is difficulty in opening the mouth and swallowing of foods. If you experience any of the above symptoms, it is time to see your dentist. There are many dentists in Astoria NY that are ready and willing to help you. Difficulty in breathing and/or swallowing indicates that the infection has spread deeper to your jaw and the surrounding tissues. Sometimes it can spread to the rest of the body. Warm water is helpful in cleansing the mouth and encouraging drainage if the inflammation ruptures itself. A dentist helps in treating the inflammation by; a)Cleaning the infected area with salty water. This is after he drains the inflammation through small incision found in the gums. b) If the inflammation causes gum diseases, the dentist cleans the space between the gum and the tooth. c) A dentist performs a root canal to remove the pulp that is infected as well as draining the inflammation. d) If the inflammation cannot be drained, the dentist extracts the tooth. e) He prescribes the antibiotics that would help in getting rid of the bacteria and the infection. It is advisable that once you notice any of the symptoms, you should visit your dentist as early as possible to avoid the inflammation from spreading to the other parts as well as saves you on costs.
