Prostate cancer is the most common type of cancer after the non-melanoma skin cancer. This cancer is the second largest causes of death among men in Australia and United States of America. This life-threatening ailment occurs in the prostate gland of a man when cells start to divide irregularly and form a tumor inside the prostate gland. The malignant cells can spread to other parts of body in advanced stage. Some of the techniques have been described as follows: Surgery It has been successful for the initial stage of the prostate cancer. Surgery is accomplished when cancerous tissues affect the entire reproductive system of a man. It has different types like Pelvic lymphadenectomy, Radical prostatectomy, Retropubic prostatectomy, Perineal prostatectomy and prostatectomy Perineal prostatectomy. It is usually recommended by the oncologists at the initial the stage of the prostate cancer. Chemotherapy It is another effective method for the Prostate Cancer Treatment which is carried out via drug or medication process. Drugs are designed according to the stage and the type of the tumor. It is generally used with the combination of surgery and radiotherapy for a more successful result. Cryosurgery It is the process where infected malignant cells are cooled to a very low temperature with liquid nitrogen or argon. Oncologists use image techniques such as MR (Magnetic Resonance), CT scan and ultrasound to guide this cooling technique. This process is either used by topically or surgically depending upon the stage of the cancerous cells. Radiotherapy Radiotherapy is another effective Prostate Cancer Treatment in which radiation beams in form of X-rays are targeted on the cancerous tissues to heal the malignant tissues. Proton therapy This is one of the most famous healing techniques for prostate cancer. It is carried out via high ionized proton particles. Highly moving particles kill the genetic materials of the malignant cells called as DNA. In this method, proton particles are delivered in such a way that avoids harming any healthy tissue, leading fewer side effects after the treatment.
