Treatment of Eyes Infected With Bacterial Conjunctivitis
Vigamox (moxifloxacin hydrochloride ophthalmic solution) is from that group of medications called as fluoroquinolones.Vigamox (moxifloxacin hydrochloride ophthalmic solution) is from that group of medications called as fluoroquinolones. Iinfections which are caused by certain type of bacteria is treadted with antibiotics like Fluoroquinolones. Vigamox (moxifloxacin hydrochloride ophthalmic solution) is an eye drop which is used for the treatment of eyes which are infected with bacterial conjunctivitis (red eye) in people 12 months and older. Its working is done by killing the bacteria causing the infection.
Usager
It is recomended if moxifloxacin eye drop is followed with a course of one week. Use single drop in the affected eye(s) 3 times a day. Time gap between two doses should be evenly distributed.
There are many factors which affect the dose person to person such as if a person is allergic like if he/she has any medical condition, body weight. If doctor has pescribed different type of dosage mentioned here then stick to that and do not change it without consulting your doctor.
Things which are needed to be followed before using it :-
1) Before using the eye drop, wash your hands
2)Take the cap off , and keep it in a neat place
3)Avoid touching the tip of container, keep it away from contact with any surface.
4)With one of your finger pull down the lower lid of your eye so that it forms a pouch.
5)Without letting the surface of container touch the eye put one drop in the pouch formed.
6)Gently pressurise the inner corner of your eye and the bridge of the nose which will prevent medicine to drip down from tear duct and help it to go in the bloodstream, which could cause some side effects.
7) Repeat it with oyu other eye, if, that too is affected.
9)Wash your hands to clean any medicine left in your hand.
Safely discard the dropper bottle or remaining medication after finishing the course.
Moxifloxacin is available as intravenous solution, tablet, and eye drop.
Side Effectsr
Side effects are unwanted reaction of body to medicine which is sometimes temporary sometimes permanent, sometimes severe and sometimes mild.The effect that may occur after using this moxifloxacin therapy include spontaneous rupture and tendonitis, serious liver injury or liver faliure, photosenstivity or photoxity reactions. Eye irritation, Eye itchiness, mild temporary burning and stinging with application.
Stop using medicine immediately if following symptoms occur :-
Nausea and vomotingr
Abdominal crampsr
Difficulty breathingr
Swelling of the face and throat
Do not use if :-
1) allergic to moxiflocation or any content of the medicine.
2) allergic to antibiotics of fluruquinolone family (eg.levofloxacin, gatifloxacin, ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin)
